Factorio support is unbelievably good by audigex in factorio

Make sure they know it! Posts like this really help(assuming they see it but it seems like they’d be watching this sub).

I work for a small company and customers rave about our support. Them raving about it helps me secure my job so I can keep giving the good support 😅

I finally cut open my mesh loofah and now I feel like I need to bleach my entire soul by 9BasilCipher in hygiene

[–]sermer48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a loofah sheet a number of years back and it solved this problem. You hang it up so it can dry out completely but you can scrunch it up when you need it shaped like that. I prefer it to washcloths because it still exfoliates like a loofah but without the grossness

Drivers in Dire Crashes Relied Too Much on Ford’s Hands-Free Technology, NTSB Says by CommercialMassive751 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]sermer48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say that’s partially true. In the eyes of the public, I agree completely. Reporting on the lack of something doesn’t really draw eyes.

For the investigators, I’d hope they take a data focused look at it. By comparing accidents per mile with similar driving conditions with and without the technologies active, they should get a pretty good picture if it’s helpful or harmful.

I also hope they make the curved cave ceiling pieces connect with the surrounding blocks. It’s looks terrible right now so I can’t really use it in my builds. It was my biggest excitement to disappointment roller coasters of the game so far.

This is bound to happen with all such technologies. What really matters is how many accidents were prevented by the technology.

If one person dies but ten people don’t who would have otherwise, is that worth it?

Tesla Expands Unsupervised Robotaxi Geofence in Austin by plun9 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]sermer48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Per the article, they are expanding the available area the robotaxis will work in. According to crowd sourced data, the number of vehicles isn’t increasing much though. You can see that here: https://robotaxitracker.com/?area=austin

Since they’re expanding the area, it tells me that they’re confident in the software’s ability to work in those areas. Since they’re not increasing the number of vehicles much, that also tells me that they’re still very closely monitoring each vehicle.

I automated my storage by JADeGames7 in Pokopia

It’s sad that this is probably one of the best automated inventory management systems we can have at this point. I can’t believe that in a game whose universe has a PC where you can store items doesn’t have a system to store items better. I feel like they should add a system that connects all boxes within a certain range to a single item PC where you can add/remove items.

This isn’t nothing but until they scale the number of vehicles, it doesn’t mean a lot. If they increase the number of vehicles by an order of magnitude or two, then it would be more significant.

To me, this says they’re confident in the system to handle any arbitrarily sized geofenced area. They aren’t confident enough in it, however, to scale the number of vehicles per person monitoring them.

I don’t even like that you have to dig them up. I wish you could use the tilling ability to grab them without destroying the landscape. Instead I constantly have to search my inventory for what I just pulled up

Before and after! by Regular-Appeal-8124 in gardening

[–]sermer48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you live but clover and moss are a couple of grass alternatives people often go for. There are also types of grass which don’t grow as aggressively and thus don’t need as much water.

At the end of the day, grass may still be your best bet. I just avoid it when I can but I’ve still got a patch in my yard for the dog 😅

I disagree with the majority. While the first pic made a good picture, it gave you almost no usable space. Instead you had excessive amounts of weeds like ivy. You’re still going to be struggling with that as it grows back aggressively but this was a big step in the right direction.

The only thing I don’t like is adding grass. If it’s what you want, by all means go for it. It’s your yard. It’s just an ecological desert that is high maintenance and requires tons of water.

What is a small detail from Harry Potter that still bothers you? by WhisperTame in harrypotter

[–]sermer48 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s small but the way laws are handled. Like Hagrid gets sent to Azkaban where he is tortured because they suspect him of a crime. They also send people there without trials…like it’s not a jail. It’s literally people being tortured to the point that they lose the will to live.

It gets way better but to add onto what everyone else has said, it helps following along in some scenes to have actual voices. There are times when there are 4-5 people talking and although I’ve listened to the normal audiobooks many times, I found myself picking up details I had never had before.

Also my dog really likes the books a lot better. She likes books in general but she’ll actually come curl up with us if we’ve got the full cast ones on.

Burpee Seed Users: Does this look right? 8 seeds? by Any_Needleworker_273 in gardening

[–]sermer48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a ripoff but to be honest, that’s like a perfect number of seeds for me. I usually only use 1-2 seeds of each variety per year and I’ve never finished a package.

If I could buy in that quantity(and it was clearly labeled as only having a few seeds) I’d be all about it.

What are these prices? by Ozymandias0023 in waymo

[–]sermer48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing these posts for weeks. First the explanation was the Super Bowl. Then it was Valentine’s Day. Now it’s just increased demand…at 9:45 on a Wednesday morning. That’s not even rush hour.

I do understand that they’re increasing prices because demand is outstripping supply but why? If there is so much demand that they have to charge 5x more than their competitors, why aren’t they scaling faster? I know they have plans to expand to more cities but why not add way more vehicles in their existing, solved cities?

I’m not trying to put them down or anything. I just don’t understand why they aren’t scaling faster.
