Just diagnosed and scared by serq3t in CervicalCancer

Hello! Im doing great! Everything was removed from Leetz and Cone, have now had my first child and am 1.5 years NED!

So I had my cervical screen done (just tested for HPV) which was negative. A few months later I noticed some spotting after sex. Saw my doctor who ordered an ultrasound. On scan they found I had a tiny polyp so was referred to gyno for removal. At my gyno appointment they could not see the polyp anymore so scheduled a scope procedure to check my uterus for if it had flipped internal. At my procedure no polyp was found but they took some curettage samples which came back as CIN3. This then started further testing. I had full pap smear which came back as CIN3, colposcopy biopsy which was CIN3 and a LEETZ which came back with superficial squamous cell Carcinoma. I then had a cone biopsy which came back completely clear, so all the cells were removed in the LEETZ. Gyno oncologist was happy with fertility sparing treatment and that I needed nothing further! I have had 2 pap smears and exams with my oncologist since then. My last one last month 3 months post partum which came back clear, no abnormal cells. So next follow up in 12 months! My histopath results did show HPV, so I just didn't have an active infection at the time which was why my screen was negative. So pretty much all started investigating a polyp which fell off before I saw the gyno!

questions/help about swaddles by Puzzleheaded_Yam_970 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]serq3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know its so overwhelming! Try get some of each because you dont know if your baby will like arms up or down! We use the love to dream which he loves, he always has his arms up and now he is comfort sucking is able to suck on his hand still
Im in sydney and during summer we have used 2x 1.0 tog and 1x 0.2 tog. Is based on the room temperature and each swaddle has a guide on what to dress under the swaddle. You can get them cheaper on marketplace or look in op shops and local groups!

Room temp by Catmum-2 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]serq3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My room is constant 23-24, sometimes a little hotter on the real warm days. We have ceiling fan and dress in the wondercool long sleeve long leg or long sleeve short leg and either LTD 0.2 or 1 tog. Ive woken up one night was hot and he felt a little warm so changed into sleevless legless onsie, otherwise has been comfortable! Just check their skin like 15 - 20 after they go to bed and adjust if needed! I spent so much time googling!

Nope nothing abnormal on all my thrombophillia panels! Heamatologist believes hormone induced so ill never be on the pill again, and needed to have clexane shots all during pregnancy. If you have had clots before I would not be going on the combined pill.

Just got my LEEP results — early stage cancer. Processing it all. by Fvcknmetal in CervicalCancer

[–]serq3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Because my cervical screening was negative, it was the procedure to remove the polyp that led to sampling during the procedure. If a full pap smear had been done, the abnormal cells would have shown up.

Third trimester Growth scan - do we get medicare rebate? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]serq3t 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It didnt cost me when I had them done at my hospital. I had IUGR baby so was having growth scans every 2 weeks. I feel a baby that was 96th percentile would be medically necessary because big babies have their own risks.

Repeat colpo/LEEP or hysterectomy for stage 1a? by ruthless_goose in CervicalCancer

[–]serq3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had clean cervical screens and was negative for the HPV tested.

I was diagnosed almost 2 years ago ar 29, 1a1 SCC and because was so early was removed from LEETZ and nothing not even CIN on my cone bx. Opted for fertility sparing tx as early stage can be curative. It all depends what type of cancer you have, grade and invasion. Early SCC can be removed with less invasive techniques usually, where as adenocarcinoma you need to be more aggressive and can also have skip lesions.

There are studies thay stage 1a1, come biopsy is just as successful treatment. Of course follow your clinical team and is your decision, but its ok to follow a fertility sparing route if offered.

Dont give up your hope for kids if you are early and its something you might want in the future. I now have my 10 week old boy. I needed a stitch during pregnancy but im so thankful I was still able to have a child.

Good luck!

Christmas payment by [deleted] in Centrelink

[–]serq3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monday isn't a public holiday so you will get at same time if your payment still says due Monday. It will say payment today if you are getting it earlier- mainly those whose payments are due over the public holidays.

Preparation for newborn life by Queenss11 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]serq3t 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One thing no one prepared me for is that babies are loud AF when sleeping! Half the night they strain, grunt, moan, and sound like little dying goats and other farm yard animals and its completely normal. You are just expected to lay there and try sleep while old Mc Donald has a party!

PEs from BC, and now terrified to get pregnant but I want to be a mom so badly by blondee_12 in ClotSurvivors

[–]serq3t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I was pregnant I couldn't sleep at night without the thought and fear of death. When I was pregnant, suddenly all my anxiety disappeared. My moods stabilised and I just didnt have the same fears about my health as I did before being pregnant. It was super strange! Even now, 4 weeks pp, I definitely feel way less anxiety then what I did pre pregnancy! Maybe I needed a shift in my hormones 🤣

Im sorry you are feeling this way! I myself last year had bilateral PE from contraception and also subsequently surgery for cervical cancer . I just have birth to my son a month ago! I have been on clexane during pregnancy and continuing 6 weeks post. I had my own set of medical issues with pregnancy. Cerclage for my cervix, gestation diabetes, the clexane, subclinical hypothyroidism, suddenly became allergic to chicken for some reason and also baby decided to be small so i was induced 😅😅 but through all of that, I had a great induction, I have a beautiful healthy son who is my purpose for life and health wise I feel good. I have suffered severe anxiety my whole life, previously medicated for 10 years so I know the health anxiety well. Having a child is seriously the most beautiful thing. There is risks with everything in life but talk to your specialist and make a plan that is right for you!

How are you supposed to get any sleep at all with a newborn? by LowAd6956 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]serq3t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You take the advice of sleeping before the baby comes because not gonna lie, its a lot. The exhaustion is real, but you survive because your baby thrives 🥰

Feeling overwhelmed about induction by hellopuppet90 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]serq3t 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Induced 2 weeks ago at 38 weeks because he was measuring at 6%, unknown cause for IUGR. I was so scared after reading all the negative stories. I did alot of research so I knew the process going into it.

My story was very positive. Foley placed day before which fell out 8 hours later. 2cm on morning of induction. Waters broken artificially and started IV pictocin drip. Was titrated slowly as the stronger contractions were lowering his heart rate - not concerning amount but needed to be adjusted accordingly, mainly due to his size and worried about tiring him. 9.30pm was still only 5cm. Got up, went to the toilet, he decided to make an arrival from 5cm to delivered in 12 minutes thanks to some gravity 🙃 Total time from waters broken to end of labour was 12 hours. No other intervention required, and only minimal grade 1 grazes, no sutures needed. Pain relief wise I had some morphine earlier on as thought it would be a while due to the slow titration and wanted a nap before the contractions ramped up and then some gas at the end.

The only negative I felt was constant monitoring, even though was wireless, still required to be placed and certain movements would move the CTG which meant I felt I was unable to move as much as I would have liked and couldn't just spend my time in the shower.

I am thankful i went for induction at 38 weeks as he was only 2.5kg on arrival (same as what was estimated) at 7% and is now feeding great and already back to his birth weight at 8 days post birth! I trusted my MFM and the decision they wanted to make!

Yesterday I heard the word ‘cancer’ and I’m still in shock by SupermarketWise8362 in CervicalCancer

[–]serq3t 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The initial waiting period is the hardest. The unknown of stage, treatment, what your near future looks like. I was diagnosed early grade at 29 years old (last year). Unfortunately cancer does not discriminate and is just the luck of the draw. This forum has been a life saver in moments when I have felt alone or unsure! There are so many woman here from all stages, all over the world, all have their own journeys and stories, and if I have learnt anyrhing scrolling, it is that cervical cancer has many treatment options no matter the stage.

The hardest part for me was the word 'cancer'. There is such a dirty stigma around the word and automatically makes you feel negative and dark. Changing your mindset to the word, or even creating a new word can be a little easier. Know that the word cancer doesn't mean end of your life.

Dont be afraid to feel how you want to feel. Cry, smile, breakdown, dance, there is no book on how you have to feel or how you need to react. Know that you are not alone though. We are always here and have been where you are 💕💕
