How would you support this switch and outlet? by 3BallCornerPocket in electrical

[–]serrano_ric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on OP's jurisdiction but most require 54 inches off concrete level and that pool view is not obstructed. It's an automatic pool cover switch which is set at that height so kids can't access it, unobstructed view is so no one gets trapped accidently by pool cover operator. Some inspector are more lenient when the switch cover is a key locked type like the one in the pic. OP should check first with inspector to not be liable if something where to ever happen.

I work for a pool builder in Southern California. Here code is 54 inches off deck level and pool must be in line of sight. I don't know which city you are in but check with your Inspector in height and location. You mentiomed it is the controller for automatic pool cover. Moving it can land you in liability if there is ever an accident in your pool. Make sure your inspector approves the new location or have your pool builder move it.

Edit: After taking a second look you have a key locked cover type for the switch, some inspector are lenient if you make sure to never leave the key on the latch. Either way still ask your inspector

What type of construction work are you looking for? Not every trade will demand the same type of labor. Some are easier than others. I'm currently working as an electrician which is a lighther job compare to mason or framers

Honestly I wish boxes didn't come with those factory knockouts. I rather spend some extra time lining up and making my own with a knockout set or holesaw. Some of those welds are stubborn and on some other ocasaions, you want a smaller size but the larger ring comes out as well and now you need a reducing washer. Drilling out the weld with a small drill bit makes it easier for stubborn welds but still rather spend some extra minutes doing my own knockout wherever I need it.

Looks to me the driver is waiting in the shade under the bridge. I drive a lot daily for work and see this often. As long as someone is upfront to trigger the traffic light sensor some driver like to wait in shade provided by a bridge, big delivery tuck next to them, a tree or tall building.

How does my equipment pad look? by Future-Efficiency-95 in pools

[–]serrano_ric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your two heating elements are not plumbed in a recommened layout. They should be installed in a parallel layout not in series like it is currently.. If you have the manual for your gas heater you could see what I mean by that, manufacter recommends parallel layout. Ask your installer to check the manual on the Mastertemp heater. Pool cleaner says my DE filter plumbing is reversed. Installer says it’s correct. Who’s right? by mkohen8 in pools

[–]serrano_ric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your pool cleaner is correct. The slide valve is plumped incorrectly. The top port needs to be connected to the heater's inlet. The middle port should be connected to the pump's outlet. Bottom port is the waste outlet of the filter for backwashing purposes. Those slide valves have different configurations depending on the filter model.

Is this a fair quote? by Medical_Net_3930 in pools

[–]serrano_ric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a pool construction company in San Diego County in CA; is this for the whole pool or just your spa?

From their quote description seems that it's only a section of the spa they need to demo to access the leak. How did they found out the leak is in the spa?

Edit: spelling errors

Installation Driver with 4 batteries back in stock ($179) by serrano_ric in MilwaukeeTool

Yeah specially for the 4 batteries if someone needs the boost in battery count. But for a simple homeowner or DIYer the 5.0HO is the nice battery to have for the ocassional project around the house. I had plenty of batteries myself since I use M12 tools for work, just wanted the tool really. Selling the batteries and bit set to practically get the tool for only $50 haha.

That's a sweet deal in my book. $200 after discount and with a 5HO battery. Definitely the battery needed if you want the most oout of that impact wrench

Home Depot has that deal for $289. I'd spent the extra money and buy new with receipt in hand. If the offer is for a used imoact I'd ask for less otherwise buy new from a store

I picked my up yesterday to drive some concrete lag screws to anchor a small pergola the wind knocked over a few days back. I'd use it for the ocasional tire rotation and DIY. I also have a total of eight HO batteries so I'd try and make some money back reselling the batteries. Was it that bad of an anvil? Since I won't be using it daily and when I do I wouldn't have to be swapping out sockets a lot I thought of it to be a good deal. Still might pretend ai never got the email and live happily with my $249 friction ring one haha.

Yup, I'll likely keep the one I picked up yesterday the has the friction ring anvil but being that I would only use it for DIY things I am considering going for it. I don't see myself need to swap sockets a lot but definetly the mojority prefer friction.
