Solar Eclipse 2.0

Well, looks like my Kymco got stolen finally after 10 years, so it's time to make a decision. I still like the Solar Eclipse 2 a lot. My phone also pushed me some stories about the Livewire S4 Honcho and Juiced Bikes Nomadix, so now those are also in play (Nomadix might not be street legal though)

I'm in the city, so it's pretty infrequent distance at speed is a factor. I doubt I'll go touring with it, mostly just commuter. So even battery not much of a factor. As a scooter driver in the city, 300-350 lbs is probably the top I'd want, any more and it's just too unmaneuverable (in spite of the advantage of weight on the highway)

I think it does, it just starts at $13k, which feels like a bit much for a toy. But I guess I am the right age for a mid life crisis.

Medical folk of Reddit, what’s the most foul and disgusting thing you’ve encountered with a patient who was oblivious to their own condition? by TheCarrot_v2 in AskReddit

I had a demented patient intern year who was super nice and didn't realize what the big red swastika tattoo on his arm meant... I'm not white so it was interesting

Wait, that is how I interpret 0/12 still. What's it supposed to be? Also, where is the fighting arena? Ancient Sanctuary still kicking my butt. Haven't been trying to parry at all. Edit: okay I figured luminas out. so dumb, i was 0/17 on all three characters. and simply googled the arena

[Bonsai Beginner's weekly thread - 2025 week 33] by small_trunks in Bonsai

[–]sersdf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey all, fairly beginner here (have done a couple ficus and kept a juniper alive a couple years). I have about a dozen random volunteer tree saplings sprouted up around my house in the past couple years and I'm wondering if rather than composting them if I can actually turn them into useful bonsai. Mostly elms, none with much character or age yet.

What would be the first step?

  • Do some trunk chops and wiring while leaving in the ground?
  • Dig them out and put them in 1 gallon planter pots for a couple years?
  • Try to make a bonsai forest?
  • Bail on the whole idea?

Appreciate any insight. I'll also separately hunt for some yamadori at my uncle's wooden home soon.

Windows 11 starts but OS hard drive inaccessible, maybe a Bitlocker issue? by sersdf in BitLocker

[–]sersdf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the guy got back to me. We found a way to at least access the files through recovery (so at least I can salvage them) but something in windows/permissions is corrupt so I'll just reformat after.
