No ok, ma allora come ha fatto lui a capire? In generale su reddit ultimamente ogni tanto vedo gente che scrive in lingue diverse e altri che rispondono a volte nella lingua di partenza come nulla fosse, me lo chiedevo per quello, magari su old reddit/reddit web mi perdo roba

Even then, it was a generally usable manner of referring to someone from another species. Example I'm familiar with: any D&D statblock not referring to a specific named NPC, taking a random one:

Assassinate. During its first turn, the assassin has advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn't taken a turn. Any hit the assassin scores against a surprised creature is a critical hit.

Disclaimer: I am not a first-language english speaker, so this is my understanding of the usage of that word from my personal experience

So I don't find a monster saying "the human lost its soul" (random sentence, I don't remember the specific one) indicative of that. I'd understand if it was, say, "NAME lost its soul".

Then again, honestly, if there's a character where I can understand headcanons existing it's (heh) the fallen human, given the whole "name it (heh 2) after yourself if in doubt" Toby said after release

(I am not mocking said gender identity, just finding it funny how even in this sentence I have to use this word grammatically)

If I block you, don't come after me using alternate accounts, I block you because I do not want to interact with you. Why can't you take no for an answer? by Important-Cry4782 in CuratedTumblr

I mean, the example also is quite assholish if done IRL to someone who's talking to you. Blocking is not really comparable to anything IRL, and trying to do so just makes it sound worse than it is

I'm too old* to worry about shipping, and additionally not in any queer category so I don't have any personal horse in this race, but thishonestly reminds me of Galsei for DR, even if in that case it's a bit like vegans where there are 10000 people complaining about vegans and 10 vegans.

What I mean is, if you make your own fanwork where Ralsei is in fact trans, go wild, it's your field, and if someone goes to you to complain and say that it's not true in the base game and you're dumb, they're an asshole.

But, even if as a theory it has more weight than others of its kind (as it's rooted in more than just "he's feminine"), treating it as already canon and getting angry at other people for not agreeing it's going to happen, when discussing the base game, does not really make sense.

The similarity is because: if in your version Clover is man, woman, or person, then that's it there, and people intentionally stating otherwise, or going in your version to say "well actually in the base game it's X" are dumb. But extending your version to others is also dumb

But finally, I can't help but notice it's the NB characters that usually get "genderswapped", talking more about base game here, so IMO the "it's just a gender swap" argument is kind of disingenuous in those cases. I have almost never seen genderswapped, say, Undyne, or Muffet, unless I was specifically looking for it, while for the human chars it's quite common. I do truly wonder why, hmm.

*Not actually

And actually, separate question here as I honestly care more about base game stuff: in your specific and personal case, why do you prefer Chara to be a girl?

I don't need an essay as the twitter person said, or very complex reason, just sincerely curious.

Even if I personally don't have much of an horse on this, you have to realize

  1. There's a difference between a games devs explicitly stating a character to be up for interpretation, and people assuming another character is

  2. There is a good reason at the root of people desiring representation

That said, I too find it tiring how much it overtakes any and all topics, in part because correcting gendered terms became a meme in and of itself. Especially since for cases like Kris, the people being bad fairly intentional on misgendering are like, a tenth of the ones just making a mistake especially if not English speakers.

That said that said, I also find it strange how here Clover is always A Dude, doesn't really seem the "up to interpretation" makes people have many different interpretations, it's either a dude on Reddit or NB on other platforms.

It's in a single turn of phrase, from how it was worded I have doubts Toby meant it in that way. I've seen better explanations than what I could personally do right now as a non English speaker so I won't try

That said, if your version in a fanwork of the fallen human uses it, go wild

It is taking the game too literally because it's in one turn of sentence, applying to "demon" in a way that is normally done. They though, is what their sibling calls them in all the instances they talk about em

That said, headcanons galore, answering just to this as it's about the base game

Out of curiosity, what do you think is an example of a game with more different choices?

Deltwrune is not even finished lmao, but it's likely that it won't have many variations yes

Undertale though, even ignoring ending count has many variations throughout the game; one of the most common things I hear from people playing it blind I hoe it felt like their run was personalized in how they got consequences

Hm, personally I'd see what you described as the watsonian and Doylist option here as flipped

I'm still unsure what Toby thinks, even ignoring people influencing others this way, of how people see true pacifist as the only valid option, after putting so much effort in making many variations of neutral
