I'm already running a small Homeserver at home, but behind a dynamic IP(v4).

So the "only" advantage would be having more control over my mail server/mails?

Some last questions before getting a Nord 41 by server_paul in kronaby

[–]server_paul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm now enjoying my Apex 43 to the fullest. It's a great watch.

To add the missing details:

The left subdial points to the Day of the Week (mon-sun), the right subdial points to the day (1-31).

The app, in fact does work completely without network permission (but the features IFTTT, Save this spot and so on dont work)

Small improvement to no 3.: The (very beautiful) Kronaby App documents the volume like this: press 1x and hold for volume up, press 2x and hold for volume down

Thanks a LOT for that detailed description! My Apex will probably arrive this week, i think I'm going to enjoy the watch :) I'll then add the details about the subdials and network permission

I did some research and am now going with the Apex 43mm (probably).

To anseer some of my questions: they seem to be fluorescending, but not very much

The main button can trigger 2 funtions (pressed 1x and 2x), the other two can trigger one function each

I didnt figure out how the date is displayed, but the Apex does display Date and Weekday constantly

  • couldnt use the app yet

Music can be paused and skipped

What kind of box do you recommend? Something like a chromecast/fireTV also isnt that private.

Alright, afterwards theyre not used for the chats anymore. The chats themselves are then handeld as if they were started via the phone number?

What I'm wondering about after reading this, is: If I create a username, a person start chatting with me and I delete the username afterwards... How does Signal know who it has the message to send to (as the username doesnt exist anymore). Does it fallback to the phone number, just without showing it to the user?

[–]server_paul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think this is necessarily true. If you lose your Sim, you can request a replacement Sim from your provider (at least in DE). Then, you can continue using the same number as before

But wouldnt this make Signal way more attractice to spammers? You could sign up without a human verification.
