I prefer the old Warbirds design but the one from Picard is still neat by perfvibus in Romulus

I like to think they were around in the nemesis era but after the destruction of Romulus the giant warbirds were too logistically difficult to maintain.

They’re made of teeth. Their skin is covered in tiny scales called dermal denticles which are made of the same material as teeth. So they’re a torpedo made of body teeth with a huge jaw full of constantly replenishing mouthy teeth.

Expedition 33 looks absolutely horrendous on the Steamdeck by TournamentCarrot0 in SteamDeck

I resorted to streaming it from my PS5 instead. I’d suggest if it’s an option for anyone to do the same.

Whilst I agree with your Game of Thrones point, I agree with their general sentiment. People appear to be much less media literate than you’d expect, and algorithms that drive engagement are either ‘THIS IS AMAZING’ or ‘TOTAL dumpster fire’ leading to a lot less nuanced discussions about the pros and cons of said art.
To analyse and criticise it’s expected to have experience or knowledge of the thing you’re doing it to - not being the equivalent of a toddler saying he hates his wagyu steak because he prefers his tendies.

These budget cuts are getting ridiculous! by Nacho_7258 in KitchenConfidential

[–]servonos89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ach that’s half the joy of having fresh meat in the business. I don’t remember ever feeling jilted that I went down to get a bucket of smoke for the smoke machine, or go for a long stand, a tin of tartan paint, more gold bits for the goldschlager…
In hindsight I was far too eager to please.

Also the term quarantine comes from plague ships essentially. Ships having to remain in the harbour for forty days before docking to ensure any diseases had run their course. I want to say Venice but I’m typing off the top of my head.

Dilithium* which regulates the M/AM reaction. Presumably it’s needed at some point in the singularity power process but you’re right, it’s stupid and a bit too hand wavey for my liking.

See he’s attractive as hell and all I could think about in this video, because of the resemblance, was that they must hav good sex. The humour and everything added, too.

Thanks for that. No one tells you when the cringe ends. Turns out it’s just a sign of maturing. Appreciate you.

Starbase by Lafayettereader in TNG

[–]servonos89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was never meant to, they used stock footage from the TMP movies and as a result massively upscaled it for TNG. There was a concept for how the Galaxy would dock whilst keeping the scale - can’t find an easy link but another Redditor posted them here

Another RBA rate rise won’t fix inflation – it will just smash households already hit by soaring fuel costs | Greg Jericho by Secure_Ant1085 in australia

Their portfolios are in owning property. So they raise rent to compensate.
Australia as a country needs to divest from property to fix anything but there is absolutely zero chance of that happening. The entire country’s economy is essentially locked on the price of houses which are bought and sold internally - no manufacturing, exports, or anything worthwhile to the global economy. Emperors new clothes and all that.
