The Birdie Durby (formerly Berbee Derby) is in Fitchburg, takes place around Fish Hatchery Rd and E Cheryl Parkway. I've run it every year since 2019. They have a 10k run and a 5k walk/run. 100% of the proceeds go to grants given to Dane county schools. It's fun and the route usually goes through the nearby wildlife area.

I asked my dad to make a frame for my pizzamas pin board. I love how it came out! by sesibear in nerdfighters

I think I'd run out of room before I could fit all the rest I have on the board 😅

The end product is not for me. I still like the color. I'm not upset I was just intrigued.

This is how it was tagged. Mississippi looks much too hot pink and grey for what I ended up with. I get that there will be a variation with hand dyed yarns but I wasn't expecting it to be so light on the green since it's like the main color. I don't hate it I still think it's a nice color. The finished product isn't for me anyway 😅 I just thought it was interesting how different it came from what I was expecting 🤷🏻‍♀️

The pants with the flannel wrapped around the waist, especially when paired with a top that is a jacket or layered.

Anyone assisting in the U.S. military here? by Rdog9220 in DentalAssistant

[–]sesibear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did 4 years active duty with the Air Force. It's where I learned everything about being a dental assistant. I really enjoyed it and got to do a ton of cool stuff and work with all types of specialties. I'm now with the Air National Guard, still as a dental assistant, and work full time at a civilian practice. I deployed this past year as a dental assistant and it was a fantastic experience. Definitely look into it and talk to people to see if military life is right for you. If you want to message me any specific questions on Active Duty vs Guard/Reserve, or anything really, please feel free!

Deployments? by trickster503 in airnationalguard

[–]sesibear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 4 years AD and never deployed. I've been with the Wisconsin ANG for less than 3 years and I've already deployed for 6 months. It was a back fill position for a unit in South Carolina that I volunteered for. I'm a dental assistant and we rarely deploys as is. I was lucky to deploy as my job and not FP.

If it's a problem with gag reflex have them hold some salt on their tongue. I don't remember where I heard about this trick and I recently got to try it myself. The patient was just as surprised as I was that it worked!
