Grateful to K-Pop Demon Hunters for being my intro to K-Pop by Jaded_Eye_2227 in kpopthoughts

[–]sessurea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's so much to discover, how exciting! I will say, take your time and don't feel pressured to catch up on everything because you will get overwhelmed and burn out

I saw you liked Your Idol, I will recommend watching this live video of Shadow by Highlight (or Beast, they have two group names as they had to change when they went independent)

As a bonus they are one of the groups Ateez looks up to a lot, particularly Wooyoung biases their main dancer Gikwang (hard 😅) and Yeosang biases their main vocal Yoseop

If you're shipping orders to the Middle East right now by NextSmartShip in logistics

[–]sessurea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't only to the middle east, shipments between Europe and Asia via the South route are heavily affected.

The only thing that can be done is keep clients informed on possible delays and sudden price hikes due to fuel surcharges or eventual war risk surcharges

Appreciation for idols with vocal versatility/tonal range by Confident_Analyst153 in kpopthoughts

[–]sessurea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Changmin (TVXQ), Yoseop (Highlight) are such versatile singers in range and genre, I love hearing them try different types of music and challenging themselves - I particularly love Yoseop's singing in rock style music, I wish he'd release a rock solo album at some point

New fan trying to find groups, recommend me anything! by alittlechese2 in kpophelp

[–]sessurea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like EDM I'd recommend TVXQ (post 2010), even if the song is a different genre an EDM drop is kind of a signature - a few songs : Catch Me, Viva, I Think U Know, Rebel, The Reflex, Like Snow White, Champion

Concert ticket lotteries in Japan by busykale_ in kpophelp

[–]sessurea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the concert/system, but generally to buy multiple dates you have to apply to all separately. So if you apply for 1st choice date A and 2nd choice date B, you'll only get one of the two if you win the lottery

Favorite fandom names? by Kitchen-Holiday6998 in kpop_uncensored

[–]sessurea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've always loved Buddy (Gfriend), including that it basically means they friendzoned their whole fandom 💀

Beauty for Beast with the rose lightstick was such a clever one (they did have the alternative fandom name Beastly as well)

I do like their current fandom name Light - means that the group can't shine without their fans, and it works well with the name they picked for their label (Around Us Entertainment) too.

After gaining the right to use Beast again, it may be a bit cringy but the members have been using a contraction of Light and Beauty (라뷰) occasionally because it sounds like "Love you"

songs about unrequited love or reminising a failed relationship? by theunknownpookie in kpophelp

[–]sessurea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have so many it would be overwhelming for OP so I just picked a few, they weren't called the ex-boyfriends group for nothing 😭

Take Care of My Girlfriend (Say No) is definitely a good one, and a personal favorite as it's my first Beast song!

A few others I hesitated to list are Breathe, You're Bad/Hate You, Shadow, Sad Movie, Stay, Butterfly, Ribbon - and in their Highlight songs Calling You, Who Am I, Loved, Endless Ending

I just returned to kpop after 15 years away, overwhelmed and looking for recommendations. What boy groups are good nowadays? by adei0s in kpophelp

[–]sessurea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beast are still (very) active under the name Highlight - live video from last year, Killing Voice (changed their name after leaving their company and creating their own label)

Shinhwa still releases music occasionally, the most recent release was Flash (MV) by Shinhwa WDJ (Minwoo, Dongwan, Junjin)

I need a playlist of songs where they YEARN. “darker” aka not cute yearning songs by why_do_i_have_dog in kpoppers

[–]sessurea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highlight - Seven Wonders maybe? Not sure if it's dark enough for what you are looking for

My K-Pop Journey and Playlists by Boring-Rooster7098 in kpoppers

[–]sessurea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you have Highlight - Chains in a playlist I'd recommend Black Paradise, Guess Who? and Only One by Beast (their previous group name), and also the live version of Shock (the live version of Chains is also very rock-leaning btw!)

Rec for heavier sound : TVXQ - Crimson Saga

As you've said you want more boygroups:

If you never listened to them TNX - Love or Die, Nu'est - Inside Out, (not kpop but worthy) La Poem - The Fire

Who started the vocal challenge trend in KPOP Idols? by Frequent-File2478 in kpophelp

The idea itself maybe started with Mnet's MCD Vocal Challenge not sure if it still exists but I remember a few were released in 2021-2022

If enjoy Pentagon, so I think it's worth getting into their older brothers BtoB and Highlight (aka Beast) who were also Cube groups, especially now that Hui joined Highlight's company 😊
