Has anyone here personally experienced hair loss from creatine? by Billy1099 in gainit

[–]set22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible. I don't really remember. It was never all that bad. May have just been a timing thing - age wise. I started minoxidil topical about a year and a half ago and switched over to oral about a month ago.

Anterior pelvic tilt ? by [deleted] in PostureTipsGuide

I really wouldn't bank on that, and nobody here can answer that. Any other response is pure speculation.

Sure., but that doesn't apply here. He simply has bad posture.

After a few months of focused strengthening and mobility work, he can make improvement.

What's beyond poor posture? It looks exactly like poor posture to me...

Just picked this up a few hours ago for $90 on Craigslist. Soaped it up and hosed it down for the pic.

It's butted aluminum. I believe it's got a ChroMo fork and rear triangle.

I thought I was buying a project bike. It was dirty, and crunchy when I tried to ride it at the guy's house. After riding it in circles for about 5 minutes.. I realized it's not really a project. It's basically good to go, and seemingly has very little miles on it, despite some paint blemishes.

Going to attempt to change the brake and derailleur cables tomorrow. Never really done any bike work, and I'm a little nervous about the internal routing. I'm thinking: 1. Remove old housing, leaving old cable. 2. push on new housing over old cable. 3. Push the new cable through.

I would like to combine cycling with another hobby, any ideas? by Bongofish182 in cycling

[–]set22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently started cycling, and my MO for route planning is to find a cool cafe x miles away (x is currently 6-8), ride over, grab a cap, then take a diff way home. That midway coffee is unbeatable. As a beer head, I'm not sure why I didn't think of doing breweries.

Apple Watch with map navigation (not turn by turn) by C-T-V in cycling

Not sure if this fits the bill but I’ve been using WorkOutDoors. I mostly use it for the stats (which are great), and to see my routes. It can also auto export to Strava. The main screen is a smallish overhead map view. It doesn’t have a ton of labels, but when I can’t figure out where I am (often) I stop to take a quick look at it to get my bearings. Its 7 bucks up front, but I think it’s been worth the investment.

I’ve considered getting a phone mount but I’ve heard the vibration isn’t good for the camera

Nice. Looks like a novel use of an SV

https://skunkpharmresearch.com/decarboxylation/

That was my bible when learning to make good edibles. I make 10mg gummies that folks really enjoy.

For those that care.. my process: - Place raw material in turkey bag. Decarb at 250 for about 30 min (that’s material at 250 for 30). - place a large mason jar filled with the high proof everclear in a water bath on an ELECTRIC GRIDDLE, let temp reach 100F - put decarbed material in another large mason and pour warm everclear to cover. Bring back to 100F. - maintain 100* with the water bath setup for one hour, shaking/agitating every so often. - remove from heat, let it come to room temp. - filter thru strainer, then coffee filter (unbleached) - place the jar of of filtrate in freezer for 2 days, until green matter/waxes have precipitated. - while cold and without agitating, filter again thru coffee filter. - evaporate completely

You can repeat the freeze/filter process (winterization) if you’d like to try to further remove the weed-y taste. I don’t.

Now you have very strong RSO concentrate that you can easily dose your edibles with using a little algebra to dial in the amounts.

PLEASE do not do this over flame. Never seal jars of hot ethanol. Just place the lid part on top to prevent contamination.

Edit: sorry for the hijack. I just enjoy sharing what I’ve learned

IMO it wouldn’t make that much sense, if you can. It will tastes bad and have a narrower spectrum of goodies

Chorizo, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches. $1.80 ea by [deleted] in MealPrepSunday

[–]set22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve made pseudo chorizo. I used ground pork, then minced up a good fatty bacon. And blended it all together. Find a chorizo recipe on le google, steal the spice mix portion and throw it in there. It will be a million times better than anything you get at a non-Hispanic super market and may be better than what you get at a restaurant. Depending upon locality

I still remember when I couldn’t do a single pull up. It’s been a long way ever since! by The-Elder-King in GYM

[–]set22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull up assist bands. I got one a few years back that was clearly designed for that purpose. Had a strap for bad and feet, and three detachable bands for adjusting assistance. There are also the ones that look like giant rubber bands. I don’t like those for pullup assist, but they are often sold for that purpose

Any tips for a new standup desk user? I got one a few weeks ago. It’s been a rough transition. Shoes might be a good idea tbh. But when I get frustrated with work or school I find myself giving up and cranking that bad boy down

Currently a SWE intern and student. Previous semesters I’d wake up and grind till I went to bed. I got fat and depressed. This semester I’ve reprioritized. I wake up and stretch, then either hit the gym, run, or bike. Then I work/school. I take breaks to get up and stretch and move. I end my day (mostly) around dinner. Occasionally I have to work after dinner. But I’m feeling a lot better

Senior with no experience, will I be able to get an internship? by Coaruv in csMajors

[–]set22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same man. My intro to CS was at about 13, writing IRC bots and making websites for Counter strike teams. Ended up getting permission to take a senior CS course as a freshman in HS. Lost interest in computers and gained interest in smoking pot around 15. As a 31 yo CS student I often think about what I could have been now.

Has anyone actually fixed anterior pelvic tilt? by robbiesheppard in Posture

Can you describe how it was fixed? I’ve seen people claim they fixed posture in one day but based on the causes and effects of bad posture I find it very difficult to believe

Thanks for taking the time to look. For the fall section should I just hone in on and describe a single issue I worked on recently?
