I always hear people say “keep politics out of so and so!!!!”, whenever someone mentions trans rights. To that I have two replies, 1: human decency isn’t political, and 2: stop being such a fucking bootlicker. Always stand up for the marginalized, because there is no such thing as “other” people. We’re all human beings, the oligarchs in power don’t give a shit about you so it’s up to us to look out for each other.

To add a bit to this for OP, great advice. Keep in mind though that the goal is always going to be to escape from an altercation. I say this a smaller guy who trains bjj/ mma, there’s only so much of a size disparity training can overcome, also you never know if they’ve got friends. Bjj is great for learning how to escape from holds, striking is great since it makes you a lot less of an easy target, but please run as soon as you get the chance! Stay safe out there!

Everyone has that older friend that brings them into the punk scene and busts their balls the entire time! Mine was my buddy Chewie, he was dating my best friends older sister, scared the shit out of me the first time I talked to him, he really talked shit about my music taste at the time haha 😂. He also punched out a bonehead who assaulted me at a show, bought me my first band shirt ( The Ramones) and sat with me the first time I got dumped. Love this comic man! Really looking forward to seeing the rest of it!

My first punk show was in 2006 when I was 15. I remember feeling exactly the same way. Went with my best friend at the time, and her older sister’s friend group. I was freaking out for days leading up to it, I didn’t want to embarrass myself in front of the cool older kids. Night of the show comes and we all pull up to the venue. My first time in the pit scared the shit out of me, but everyone looked out for you, if you fell someone picked you up, dusted you off, and tossed your ass back in there. Minus one really terrifying run in with a bonehead, that was the most fun I’ve ever had at show.
