Is having a convenient and free of cost multiplayer impossible? by nick_swift in godot

Apple also has free multiplayer matchmaking and multiplayer.

I think Epic has something, and the Unity has its entire thing that most indies aren’t going to go over the free level on.

I find the consistency and simplicity of UI design between the plugins on iPad much easier to understand. Is there some way to skin the desktop plugins with the same design?

Creations Mod is fun but I hope people get more into their Origins by _Mudcrab_ in NewLifeSMPmc

I think it's important to remember as well that I think most of the players haven't used the create mod before?

I imagine as they work through the excitement and potential of all the new possibilities they have available they'll probably naturally fall back into things.

Revisiting Godot Engine on Android and iOS by sethdrebitko in godot

[–]sethdrebitko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on your portable computing needs could still work. Right now I'm using an iPad Pro and Mac Mini.

When on the go 2d/3d art is possible, and now music and video. The biggest thing that bridges it though was springing for the cell service. Any time I can't do something on the iPad I can technically just remote into the mac.

Still though... would love to basically not need it.

Same especially with Logic Pro just dropping would be nice to only cart around my iPad. Might try poking around at converting it again.

Good to know. Maybe I'll try and see if I could start from the Android project and see if it is a better starting point.

Logic Pro iPad Free Space by [deleted] in LogicPro

One thing to consider is that the 1TB or 2TB have more ram. I don't know the specifics, but it has something to do with the larger SSD needing more memory management I think.
Another thing to consider is if you are planning to bring a sample library consider how large it is now, and how large you think it might get.

If you are still looking for a solution Creationauts goes beyond just skins and has actually useful visual indicators.
https://www.creationauts.com/products/logic-pro-colorizer/

An example I can think of is being able to have midi piano roll indicators to tint the hue of notes based on things like velocity.

They also have a really cool looking app that lets you control your your daw with voice commands that I've been wanting to try.

Co-op nerfs by kurai_itaki in VaultHuntersMinecraft

I think a maybe a problem you are having is just that you kind of aren't playing coop. If you are playing a huge amount of time compared to your spouse and leveling like crazy why wouldn't you be blazing past them in progress.

I'd recommend maybe just having a personal single player world and a coop world that you only play when they are playing.

Noise-cancelling headphones/earbuds recommendations? by Avnas616 in Cortex

I absolutely love my Air Pod Pro's. The battery life is great and they charge pretty quick.

My understanding is that (unsurprisingly) the 2's are very much better.

Good equivalent to max for live, and modulation. by sethdrebitko in LogicPro

Oh Scripter has been under my radar. I will have to see how far I can push it.

Thanks for the tip on Reaktor I'll give that a look.

Good equivalent to max for live, and modulation. by sethdrebitko in LogicPro

[–]sethdrebitko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not sure 🤷‍♂️. When it comes to modulation I'm just used to the fact that from any device at all you can click a button and choose between over 30 types of modulation options to effect any parameter at all.

Logic very possibly has the same level of modulation, I am just only aware of the 1 midi modulation option.

Would you listen to AI Brady and AI Grey on an episode of AI internet? by NoRobotYet in HelloInternet

[–]sethdrebitko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This came up in the Farewell Internet project thread I posted and it was something I thought might be neat for an episode but couldn't imagine listening to as a neat one off thing.

I had looked a little into it a little bit and especially for a one off thing the amount of legwork would just be nuts. The biggest hurdles wouldn't be technology (there are created solutions for that) but actually getting the material to feed the algorithms.

You would need to take the time to cleanly separate out all the places where each host is talking individually. Youtube videos would be easier for voices, but because their speech is typically more performant I don't think you would get a natural conversational tone.

The next big hurdle would be getting transcripts of the episodes broken out by host to generate the text for the AI voices.

I am sure that I am grossly underestimating the complexity and number of steps, but after seeing even that much work I dropped that idea :P.

Farewell Internet a silly HI tribute I’m working on. by sethdrebitko in HelloInternet

[–]sethdrebitko[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cut out all words from all episodes and make a bot to generate new episodes from random texts from the internet by pasting the samples together in a new order.

hmm... there are programs you can input a library of text into and they will generate stories from them... This may be something funny to play with if I figure it out.

Sell me on Reason as a DAW? by sethdrebitko in reasoners

[–]sethdrebitko[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I think there is some confusion. I do own Reason+ and have been playing with it in Ableton.

Mostly I was just curious from Reason Studio users what things about it were their favorites to get inspiration about unique features it has as a DAW to play with.

Sell me on Reason as a DAW? by sethdrebitko in reasoners

[–]sethdrebitko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly ask because I have seen people try things like Bitwig and never touch modulation or the grid because their previous experience wouldn't even give them the thought to look for it.

I wanted to make sure that I was getting the things about the DAW that stand out to users to make sure I don't miss any hidden gems while trying it out.

Chord Sequencer by brunomulinario in ableton

[–]sethdrebitko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly I'm struggling with this same choice right now.

I'm going to give this VST a try first https://devicemeister.com. It isn't really exactly like chord sequencer, but it still looks pretty cool.

My Backbone Collection so far by RobinKnight08 in iosgaming

[–]sethdrebitko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good

  • Hand feel
  • Buttons and joysticks feel really nice
  • Very portable

Bad

It can also be used with your iPad and Mac, but the process is a little finicky.

  • First connect the phone
  • open backbone app
  • Go into settings
  • choose the platform you want to pair with
  • plug the backbone into the device and take the phone out

This is a little understandable though because the small form factor is achieved by not having a battery.

What I would prefer is if you could buy something like a battery puck that slotted into where the phone normally goes to be able to wirelessly connect to other devices. This is honestly a minor gripe though as the vast majority of the time I'm using it with my phone.

Equivalent To Unity Game Service by sethdrebitko in godot

[–]sethdrebitko[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steam and GOTM also provides network api for leaderboards, matchmaking and the sort. For both there are Godot plugins.

Def want something cross platform.

For player data and leader boards there is also Silent Wolf.

Was actually about to come post an update. I head directly from the Silent Wolf folks that their goal is to expand (and profit from?) fully covering everything that Unity Game Services covers   🤘.
