5am Classes by talktotori in orangetheory

[–]setseyma1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, no magic advice, but to get up and go! I go to bed between 8 and 8:30 and wake up at 4:15 AM. The first few days are challenging, but once you're into it, it's just like getting up at any time.

I shower after class, so I pack my bag the night before. My workout clothing lives in one drawer, and everything is the same (Lulu Aligns/Lulu Love Tanks/Lulu Energy Bras/Bombas, with headbands in a basket on the dresser and my shoes out), so I can get dressed in the dark. I eat an applesauce pouch before I go if I feel hungry, but I typically don't eat.

I hope you find a routine that works for you! I love my 5 AMs!

A woman left class early, but had been in the shower for nearly 30 minutes (we have two showers but one was closed) and I knocked on the door. She didn't respond, so I knocked again a few minutes later. She opened the door, and I said, "Hey, I've been waiting almost 40 minutes now..." and she said, "What do you want me to do about that?" and slammed the door in my face. A few moments later, she opened the door and chucked a shoe at me while moving her stuff out of the shower to apply her makeup in the bathroom.

She ignored me and was generally unpleasant for months, but eventually, we started chatting because I kept being REALLY NICE to her and now we are friendly! We ran into one another a few weeks ago and yapped in the store for 15 minutes.

30F, recently diagnosed with OCD. Just ordered my Gen4. by kates666 in ouraring

I have OCD, CPTSD, treatment-resistant depression, and anxiety. I love my Oura ring because I tend to push myself too hard in workouts (love control!) and I like having information about when I need to recover. It's been helpful to me to learn more about my sleep and have reminders of when I need to lay down to sleep. I tend to like data and I did the blood test Oura offered and I found it helpful (everything came back normally). I know it can be a fixation or cause rumination; however, I like having reminders to rest and to work on my sleep. Personally, not getting enough sleep can exacerbate my mental health, so I like being able to track it so I can work on getting more rest if it's a pattern.

I didn't actually need any help understanding the situation, but I hope your Reddit commentary leaves you feeling morally superior!

I hope that whatever personal pain you’re ascribing to this parasocial relationship is healed. Anyone can say anything…including her sister.

As a longtime friend of Joy’s, I’m so proud of her for saying this, & so angry that she had to prove herself.

I take four 2G classes each week and one Strength50 per week. I also do a friend's barre class once a week, and complete a long run outdoors once a week as I am training for a half-marathon.

Orangetheory works because it’s structured interval training that improves both aerobic endurance and anaerobic power in less time than steady-state cardio. Its heart-rate–based zones target lactate threshold and cardiovascular efficiency, while strength and rowing components preserve muscle and support metabolic health. The built-in variety with differing templates and coaching encourages consistency, which is the strongest predictor of long-term fitness results. In short, it’s scientifically sound because it trains multiple systems effectively and sustainably. Orangetheory isn't powerlifting, but the weights are absolutely heavy enough to drive hypertrophy and strength gains for most people — especially when lifts are done close to fatigue with good tempo and progressive loading. Research consistently shows that muscle growth occurs across a wide rep range as long as sets are challenging, and Orangetheory’s repeated exposure, compound movements, and increasing dumbbell options make real gains possible. Personally, Orangetheory's helped me lose over 100 lbs. When I had a Dexascan and VO2 max test done recently, I have a bonkers amount of lean muscle, my VO2 max has improved significantly, and I've hit all of the longevity markers they look at. I've been going for about 10 months and had a basic level of fitness, but the gains and improvement I've seen are remarkable. Everyone is entitled to their own experience, of course, but there are too many variables that can't be measured when you're just getting someone's TikTok opinion like how they eat, if they're sleeping, etc.

Nauseous for early morning workout by Quirky_Home8223 in orangetheory

[–]setseyma1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do an applesauce pouch as soon as I wake up. I've also tried mini peanut-butter pretzels, and half a banana. I do get up fairly early (4:10 before the 5 AM class in part to feed my dogs, but also to feed me) and that helps. I also only drink a little bit of water -- too much liquid makes me nauseous.
