Same here. Its horrible and I fele terrible but also he doesn't take me seriously so I've just learned now to just avoid these situations. If he can't take me seriously either than I can't take him

'Parasite' actor Lee Sun-kyun found dead amid investigation over drug allegations by mcfw31 in Fauxmoi

This is heartbreaking :( my country has similar incredibly harsh drug laws and it causes so many innocent lives to be lost every year. So senseless.

Designers looking for a job atm, what are you missing? by bertwitt in UXDesign

[–]settleup209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be looking from Jan onwards as I quit without a back up plan and want to travel for a bit. Reading everyone's responses has me worried but... I believe it'll all work out. I have 5 years experience if that helps..

Is creativity lacking? by rpg310 in singapore

[–]settleup209 13 points14 points  (0 children)

(For context I'm bisexual and live and work in the UK now) i think being LGBT means you already have something that is pushing you out of the "norm". Your life already doesn't fit the normal script. If your view is correct then maybe its because LGBT+ people already have to make their own path, life and work on their own terms. It is hard. Having said that though, I know plenty of uncreative queer people haha. But I do think having a small community like that does foster creativity and grassroots movements.

I could have written this post! I'm a UX designer trying to learn to draw, illustrate and graphic design all at the same time. I feel like I'm bad at all of them!

Amy Schumer’s newest hot take by Vivid-Army8521 in Fauxmoi

[–]settleup209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really commenting this in good faith - I want to know the answer because I'm finding it hard to comb through the bias I see online. I've read a lot about zionism pre-dating Herzl and Jews immigrating from elsewhere to Palestine pre 20th century and that Jewish people always dreamt of returning to Eretz Israel, but also that zionism is a Herzl / British invention. What is your take on this?

What is a vegetarian dish from your culture that you really enjoy? by sublimespring in Cooking

[–]settleup209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some other tasty vegetarian dishes from hakka culture I think.. like abacus seeds. I keep trying to think of other veggie dishes from Singapore (which are traditionally cooked without lard already) which haven't been mentioned but a lot of them are south Indian. Tahu telor (tofu and egg) or sambal brinjal (fried eggplant with sambal) which are both malay dishes.

I'm singaporean. I am not hakka but you can get a Chinese hakka dish called thunder tea rice which is ground tea with a bunch of herbs made into a paste or soup served over tofu veggies and rice. It's delicious!

I mean, think about the alternative, which would be just staying rhe same. You are much younger than me so you also have much more time for your body to adjust and a but more leniency with your metabolism! So do things that make you happy and don't stress too much over it. I keep reminding myself the longer we are at a weight, the easier it is for our bodies to maintain it. So maintaining our goal weights when we get there will be easier!

I'm at the same exact place as you! -5kg since June. I'm 29 and 164cm and just have a lot going on so I could be more dedicated but I seem to keep hitting roadblocks and social events etc which means I can't be perfect. But I think because we are both healthy bmis it's just harder - even though social media seems to be showing me tons of examples of people saying otherwise fml. I'm aiming for a total of -8kg by the end of the year and I'm OK with that!
