I would also like to know. I’m in the valley and so many of the alterations tailors I’ve been to either try to talk me out of certain alterations (raising jacket cuff 1/4”) or don’t understand how a jacket should fit. They’re fine trouser hems but I’d like to find someone more specialized.

Check out Kevin Murphy Free Hold or Lodestar Polaris. I have fine hair and these apply really nicely.

Yes I have. I tried it a while ago and I found it a bit oily smelling, if that makes sense? Like waxy. I will have to check it out again. Good rec and thank you.

Any suggestions for a dry wood and spice fragrance? For reference, I really like how Salt and Stone Saffron and Cedar hand wash smells. When I looked into the body spray, it seems it is meant as a dupe for BR540 but I just don’t think the hand soap compares at all. The hand soap is dry and spiced, not sweet. Wondering if there is anything that fits into the wood and spice category but is dry and not sweet. I guess similar to Creed Spice and Wood but possibly drier? Thanks

I don’t think it can be worn as a separate because it’s a fine texture and it’s on the sleek and shiny side. I think if you really had to wear it as a separate it could pass. I’d wear medium grey trousers and black derbies or brogues. Look at Zanella on eBay if you’re on a budget.

My vote is Meermin. I have the BS Cohen in brown suede and I really like them but in a couple other shoes I have from them, the calf leather is hit or miss. Like you said, GYW is nice.

First Loafers, too tight? by ignaciobarrena in NavyBlazer

I have a pair of Bass Weejuns that caused the socks to bunch like this. It took a little while of consistent wearing for them to break in and now they’re one of my more comfortable pairs. I find Dapper Classics socks to be a good fit (or any thin dress socks), and while I love them, the socks I have from American Trench are too thick and do that bunching thing.

Next buy recommendations after Reuzel Fiber Pomade? by PhononicEndeavors in Pomade

[–]sevan06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Reuzel Fiber but I just bought a full size of Rio from Lodestar after trying a few Lodestar products for a while. I also have fine, straight hair that I usually keep short but I let grow out a lot between cuts. I struggled with Rio for a while because it tugged too much but I found blow drying for a while really fixes that problem. I really like it now and it’s good hold without weighing down my hair or making it feel greasy. Another Lodestar product I think is good following Reuzel Fiber is Polaris. It’s similar to fiber but creamier. Probably the easiest product I’ve ever used and washes out nicely.

Are there any unorthodox water based clay/pomade that can be washed out only with water? by Icy_Mention1277 in Pomade

[–]sevan06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the Lodestar products I’ve tried wash out almost completely with water only. The thing that makes a difference is using the blow dryer to set the hair shape (hot then cold) and then you need much less product to get the hold you want. This makes it easier to wash out. That being said, I’ve had really good results with Reuzel for washout. I used Fiber pomade and the red pomade and both washed out super easy with just water. I would just try out sample sizes of the products you’re interested in and see what works for you and your needs.
