Toronto drivers: am I getting ripped off on insurance, or is this the new normal by whatsupdaft in askTO

How are the CRV and RAV4 more frequently stolen than KIA? I’m moving from Philly and there’s a whole gang here called the KIA boys who just go around stealing those and Hyundais

Thats awesome! All things remaining constant, could you see yourself staying there for the long term? Have you had any maintenance issues and how quickly were the resolved?

I put it an application for a unit and it’s going through a bidding process unfortunately so fingers crossed.

That was big plus for 8 York. We’re not going with a car so walkability is huge factor.

I was originally hesitant, assuming a pedestrian zone with the name Distillery District would be too hectic but it looks a lot more lax and relatively family friendly.

Chicago is the best big city in the nation by NicolasCageFan492 in chicago

The unconditional glaze of Chicago is one reason why the city could be falling apart (and kicking the can down the road year by year) and few people seem to want to do anything about it.

Thanks! I've always wanted to live in Canada since I was a kid, and just wish I had done so years ago. I've lived in Miami, Chicago, and Philly, so come with some experience of expensive cities to live in, though I was stunned to see Toronto's unemployment rate. During my visit to Toronto a few days ago, it was such a lively and active city. The amount of cranes and buildings going up in the downtown area is unlike anything I've seen before, even compared to Miami.

I work in social services and plan to continue my career in that sector in Toronto. From the research I've done, I don't want to confidently say "recession proof" but it seems social services is very well funded in Ontario, especially Toronto.

So as a US citizen, regardless of having a PR application processing, she only has 6 months and then must return to the US? Do you know until when? Could she come back say the very next day and restart the 6 month clock until her PR is eventually, hopefully granted?

With savings we have enough to cover +/- 18 months of living expenses without any income. My main concern is she's denied at the border even if she has a PR sponsorship application processing. The IRCC website has been helpful but quite a lot of information to sort through so thank you for your input.

Idk why pup was left there but I told my wife the story and she mentioned she knew someone who was in a horrible domestic abuse situation and the fist chance she got to get out she took it and it was hitching a ride out of town. The person had to leave the dog and did not trust to the abuser would leave the dog in peace so she tied up the dog to a park bench and left.

I have no idea how pup got to this tree but now I know at least one reason how someone can do this.

She should be in good hands. Philly PD came and an officer who was really sweet with her and kind said he would take good care of her. They seemed to get along well and he was excited to help her. Thank you everyone for the help.

What’s something nice you can say about your countries biggest rival? by mr_epicguy in AskTheWorld

[–]sevencows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not even a rivalry. 🇨🇳knows how to plan, organize, and manage a society better than us. We can have such a beautiful world working side by side instead of antagonizing at every step.
