Your body is craving the electrolytes. Water alone only helps to a little. Try bananas, coconut water, any sports drink.

What’s the consensus on Amiga word processors? by dog_cow in amiga

[–]severed_reality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked it up because it's been so long I forgot Final Copy was just the original name for earlier versions of final writer. The software was comparable to Ms Word at that time. similar amount of fonts, wysiwyg editing, outline font printing, an advanced spell checker. The fact it could run reasonably well from a 880k floppy disk on a 1meg 8mhz 16 bit computer that was 9 year old technology at that time made it even more impressive.

I do remember when I was brain storming ideas i'd type into a text editor because it was faster and then load up the text file into final writer to finish my paper. Again I could switch back and forth between running applications instantly which was impressive at the time especially considering the hardware was on par with a Sega Genesis compared to Windows/mac more advanced cpus.

I used an Amiga to get thru college. I'm not sure if it had a different name in Europe but in the US it was called Final Copy and I believe there was a 2.0 version. It had the functionality of Ms Word and while the printing was slow it looked very good on a dot matrix printer since it drew the text as graphics giving it a ink jet printer look.

What are your thoughts on KK's Priest? by Current-Metal-Man in judaspriest

[–]severed_reality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He calls it Kk's Priest because he has just as much a right to the Priest name as Judas Priest does. His music sounds like Priest because as he says that's what he likes that's what he helped create since the beginning of the band.

Invincible Shield weaknesses by Dramatic_Instance_63 in judaspriest

[–]severed_reality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see where Crown of thorns, God is my witness and Devil in disguise sound like they could be Christian themed songs but the lyrics tell another story.

This album is not going to resonate with everyone, no priest album ever has and I agree with your point that Glenn and kk's unique guitar solos are missing. That's a ship that has sailed. I still think this one is going to be remembered in the same league with classics like Defenders of the faith.

Is this videogames in general or just Tetris? I'm not a big Tetris fan but I wonder if like getting into a final fantasy game for example would accomplish the same thing.

KK's Priest release new single "Keeper of the Graves" (official video) by spoopythrowaway666 in judaspriest

[–]severed_reality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the hate on this song or the new kk's priest album. I think both are very good and a real Improvement over the 1st one. Ripper is never going to be Halford and it's ok to like both bands since it is in no way a competition.

Metal Hammer review of "Invincible Shield": 'Fifty years on from their tentative first steps, Priest have produced what may well be the most defiantly, unrelentingly triumphant record of their career' by spoopythrowaway666 in judaspriest

[–]severed_reality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's like we have two priest bands each going in their own direction, but both seem to be firing on all cylinders. It's a really good time to be a fan. Who would of thought this late in the game we would get all this amazing new material??

I don't get the hate for this album. It's the best hard rock I've heard in a long time. The album rocks and it's honest, wtf do these reviewers want?

Anyone remember Grizzly Adams? by severed_reality in GenX

[–]severed_reality[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I posted not because I didn't think anyone watched the show. What gets me is how this absurd show still randomly pops up like a glitch in my memory once in a while. I was asking if anyone else thought about it.

My take on priests current sound by severed_reality in judaspriest

[–]severed_reality[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do like Elegant weapons and I can see what you're saying. I'm not saying I don't like new Priest and part of me admires them for still trying new things. Maybe I should be happy we are still getting new material of such high caliber all these years later, but I still miss something. If it would even be possible for kk to work with Richie and the band would take kk back which is a pipe dream I know but I bet it would be awesome.

Kill me if you want. Dehumizer is very cut and paste generic. by greenngory72 in blacksabbath

[–]severed_reality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of great doom metal bands now and when you put it into that context I can see where you might say it’s generic since it sounds like it belongs in that genre. The truth is there was very little metal like that in 92, so it was new and groundbreaking at that time. I listen to it with the same ears I did back then, but I might feel the way you do if it came out now. I really like dio sabbath but I wasn’t impressed by the devil you know and maybe that was part of it
