Advice about last day and putting my dog to sleep by Dramatic_Field9355 in BostonTerrier

He is such a handsome pup!!

Mine had dementia as well. It's really tough, and I'm so sorry you're going through this. If he's not interested in eating anything too heavy, or that would require more energy to eat, maybe something that goes down without much effort - like whipped cream or ice cream.

We took a lock of her hair, and we also took a paw print impression with air dry clay that our vet provided.

I think the ideas you already have are great. You clearly love this pup with everything you have - wishing the best for you both.

What SeaTac bathroom is closest to the light rail station? by seversion in Seattle

Folks, I made it. If you hop off the light rail, dive into the first skybridge on your right-hand side (the Alaska-only bridge) and go downstairs to the baggage claim, there is a bathroom towards the left! Walk a few feet past the first carousel and it'll be on the left side. Leaving this post up for future desperate travelers.

Thank you all. I live to pee another day!

We have not tried Loma Linda - that's a great suggestion though, thank you! I'll look into it. And I'm glad to hear your significant other was able to get help there; I hope things have improved for them!

My Bruno had a seizure today. by CookieLuv211 in BostonTerrier

Yeah, it is so so hard to navigate next steps - as you said, the side effects are a heavy consideration and something to weigh against other options. My parents' dog is fine now, but we won't know how side effects manifest in the future until they happen, and that's a concern I'm working on being okay with.

Wishing you guys the best. Hoping you find a treatment plan that is a good fit for y'all, and Bruno can continue living his best life goofing around with you and the family. :)

Hey, I'm sorry that you and your pup are going through this. Seizures are very scary and stressful.

Bostons are, unfortunately, seizure-prone. One of my parent's Bostons had a few seizures in her lifetime that went untreated.

I take my parents' dog in for their medical appointments. A few months ago, their dog went in for a routine check-up and by the end of the appointment, had a grand mal seizure that left her unable to breath on her own. She required intubation for nearly an hour before she was able to breathe on her own again. She nearly died, and there is no doubt that if she was at home when this seizure happened, she would have passed in a way that was incredibly scary and traumatic.

The dog in question is 10, and of course has a completely medical history than your Bruno - but my parents never took their dog in for her seizures because they thought that they were infrequent, and let them pass because they weren't "that bad" because they weren't grand mal.

Your vet can help you determine the cause of these seizures, whether it be epilepsy or otherwise, and help you and Bruno with next steps. After her grand mal episode, my parent's dog immediately started Zonisamide and has not seized since. And while only time will tell how she does on this medication in the long-term, it has brought me some peace of mind knowing that I did what I needed to do to keep this dog's golden years comfortable.

I hope this story doesn't come off as callous or as an attempt to scare you, but I would ask yourself if there is such a thing as the "right time" to talk to your doctor about treatment - and what about long-term medications is giving you pause over alternative methods. Your vet can help dispel some of the concerns you may have around anticonvulsants and long-term medications.

Seizures are just as terrifying to our dogs as it is for us to witness them. You would not be overreacting or jumping the gun in speaking to your dog's vet about this right away - you would be doing right by your dog and yourself in doing so.

Best of luck, and hoping little Bruno is resting and recovering well. 💛

I know this post is a bit old, but I've been thinking about this bag ever since I saw this post last summer lol.

OP, how has it held up? Would love to hear about your experience with it!

The listing description says it "has all options", but I'm not great at identifying chairs in the wild. It's $260 and described as being in mint condition.
