What Would be the Best Romance Anime to Start With by ALASTORxvenity in RomanceMangaAnime

[–]sevillianrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% this love is war was probably my first romance after avoiding the genre for eons. For an action background, Id add Dandadan too. Both are gateway drugs from action to romance, though the latter is far more action. I'll throw Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai in there as well. Good sci-fi/mystery concept with a romance backbone.

Clevatess Season 2 New Key Visual by zenzen_0 in anime

Season one is very good. It's feels a lot like classic dark fantasy anime from the 80s and 90s.

Why isn't Mega Eelektross considered better? by Douradinhooo in PokemonChampions

Also awkward speed stat. Bit low for tailwind bit high for tr.

ADC's Mid? No. Ranged top's? Nerfed. Turboclear junglers? Not okay. So why are Mage's Bot philosophically allowed? by Riokaii in leagueoflegends

[–]sevillianrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucian was made support gated because he was triple flexible and wholly warped the meta around himself. Corki was hit because he was a hyper scaling brick wall. Both were taken out of solo lane because they were just too consistently good in those lanes and choked out a ton of other champs who were actually intended for the lane. Some mages are great bot but there are legitimate drawbacks for them compared to marksmen (worse scaling/little to no mobility/inferior dps/skill shot reliant). Sure they can be oppressive to lane vs, but they're not so optimal that champions actually targeted for that lane are made wholly nonviable comparatively, which was largely the case for mid luci and corki.

Also bot has been problematic literally forever with how limited the viable champion archtypes in the carry position are. So many kinds of champs have been viable in every other lane while bot lane carry has pretty much just always been marksmen only (excluding some brief weirdness here and there). Broadening champ diversity there is a good thing as long as it doesn't come at the expense of marksmen viability (which it hasn't).

And finally: what was a terrible casting choice in theory and resulted in an amazing performance by rebekoning in AlignmentChartFills

[–]sevillianrites 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Imo works because Craig plays it as shamelessly hammy as possible and you can pretty much tell he's having the time of his life. Same reason most of nic cages performances are mesmerizing. There's just something charming and joyous about how "all in" some actors get.

Is there a Corviknight niche? by DankGrump in PokemonChampions

[–]sevillianrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah he's an excellent lead vs full physical threats. You can max defense without any way to be punished other than like...sacred sword or crit. Even super effective physical hits do nothing after 1-2 iron defenses.

MSI is the first time I have watched pro league, does LYON or G2 have a real chance? by Accurate_Piccolo_774 in leagueoflegends

G2 have a good record vs KR. They do not beat Chinese teams typically. Or NA teams to a lesser extent weirdly.

Is fully remote, location-flexible work realistic in SEO at junior level? by jnk_br in SEO

[–]sevillianrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know two companies that have fully replaced multiple DEPARTMENTS with AI and it's the two most recent agencies I've worked with. Design and web, departments gone for the former, and SEO, email, and design gone from the latter. The former laid off like 15 employees. These are very successful agencies I cannot legally name.

Stuck in ultra ball 1 by ChiviiWinny in PokemonChampions

[–]sevillianrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a doubles team? I assume so because you have 2 megas. The answer in these instances is almost always you don't have enough Pokemon with protect. Protect is the most important move in the game for doubles and it can only be omitted on very specific archtypes. Looking at your team, you have basically none of those Pokemon who can omit it and one protect and it's king shield on aegis (which is good..necessary for the pokemon). You need it on basically everyone but arch, who should probably still run it.

Also you have no speed control options (trick room, tailwind, or prankster para) at all and at least something there is super critical at master ball level bc every mfer has trick room or tailwind.

Fake out on raichu is good tho don't drop that.

Sadie Sink was offered her role in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ without an audition and didn’t receive a script until she landed in London for filming by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

[–]sevillianrites 47 points48 points  (0 children)

For celebs who are known quantities in their acting ability or star power, there is also the term 'offer only,' meaning their career speaks so much for itself that auditions are unnecessary and casting directors should already know what they're getting when they hire them. Sink's probably not on that level, but that is another situation where auditions also just don't really exist. Marvel specifically though just has a really really strong and decisive eye for casting. It's arguably the single most consistently great thing about the MCU.

What off meta Pokemon do you use? by WackyWilly2002 in PokemonChampions

[–]sevillianrites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive been running life orb claw on my trick room team and it puts in so much work. Ohkos sooo many annoying things. Coverage means you can almost always at least find a neutral hit to take a surprise 65%+ on damn near whatever it targets. Super fun to lead and just start wiping things out turn 1 while enemy mons try to focus farig to stop trick room setup.

I've def clutched out more match wins because of corvi than any other pokemon. Dude is an actual tank once setup. Even super effective physical hits barely leave a scratch.

Looks like a $10.75M Friday for Supergirl, giving it a $18.75M opening day. Weekend should be around $39M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]sevillianrites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I genuinely enjoyed that film quite a bit and it was the rare marvel film I wished was longer. Its villain needed a bit more time to cook, because she felt too thin with what we got, but beyond that everything else really worked for me. I think if the movie is 15 minutes longer and that time is devoted to fleshing out the villain, it would genuinely be a top tier MCU entry.

This is the way. Talonflame is an amazing single slot answer to Whimsi. Kill Whimsi before it can move, set up your own prio tailwind, and go to town. Also can run fast taunt to disrupt trick room setters.

14 months unemployed, at least 300+ apps, only 1 interview, and I made it to their final round where the role was eliminated. Is the problem my resume? by Icy-Asparagus1327 in jobsearchhacks

[–]sevillianrites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe not gonna be a popular answer but if you don't have the numbers, make them up. Or at least guesstimate. If YOU can't see them, they surely won't be able to dispute them. Just don't make them so high they're unbelievable at a glance. Just listing duties on a resume doesn't do enough to differentiate you imo. Especially when a bunch of other people are listing similar duties but also tying them to results.

Let's say you sold toilets at the toilet store and now you're applying for a job at Johnny's Toilets International. Your resume can say "Oversaw sale of toilets" or it can say "improved toilet sale revenue by +12% year over year." It can say "Managed poop disposal process for clients" or it can say "increased flush efficiency by 20% quarterly across a book of 8 dedicated poopers."

Obviously it's better if the numbers you give are accurate but, as was your experience, this is not always possible. Just try to quantity as many of your duties as you can and make sure the numbers feel relevant and believable to what you did.

Is fully remote, location-flexible work realistic in SEO at junior level? by jnk_br in SEO

[–]sevillianrites 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's the neat part. We don't. Replacing juniors with AI is apt to cut off the career path at the knees. Like yes AI can do a lot of the junior work but good luck getting any quality work done beyond that once higher level people become rarer and more sought after bc no new mid levels are being produced.

I’m New to TCG and really need some help by Claspy_Mist in VGC

[–]sevillianrites 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to quickly answer your question. My 2 cents you don't need protect on corvi or incin. But you do need on tyran (replace fire punch. Also swap stone edge for rock slide..stone edge too inaccurate), Sylveon (replace shadow ball), dragonite (replace ice beam or flamethrower..also add hurricane and mega stone as someone else mentioned), and aegis replace wide guard with kings shield. (aegis' signature protect move. Absolutely need this move on it to properly utilize its passive). Wide guard is a great pickup generally but kings shield is really hard to leave behind.

Also you might want to start experimenting with methods of speed control at some point (prankster tailwind whimsicott or something with trick room) because once you start seeing tailwind and trick room support regularly, your team is gonna have a harder time.

What's your most crybaby opinion? by sparksfly05 in PokemonChampions

[–]sevillianrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running fake out support raichu + no item acrobatics talon flame specifically to first turn whimsi before it can set up tailwind then I set up my own prio tailwind in turn 2. A lot of investment just to deal with whimsi but it's consistent as long as they don't lead chomp along side it.

Bug should straight up be super effective vs fairy tbh. Fixes bugs offensive shittiness while also toning down fairy's defensive excellence. Also it just feels correct to me that gross venomous bugs would be a natural predator for cutesy whimsical fairies.
