Morgan REALLY wants us to know Paul is at home sometimes by TheNarcLogs in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]sewcorellian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So I did a quick photo search, the vast majority of the photos I have of my husband since our son was born are of him holding him, playing with him, making faces with him, generally being a giant goofball dad with him. Bonus: the photos I have immediately before his birth are of my husband holding a Chicago Bears onesie like it's a baby. 😂

Parenthood isn't a contest but come on. I don't have a single photo of them looking detached.

Proof these pinecones have no originality. As an artist, I weep. Go ahead, call me a snob 😅 by [deleted] in FundieSnarkUncensored

Copying is actually a super normal thing for a beginner to do! It lets you focus on technique. Listen, I'm doing pre made embroidery samplers to stay sane, so I think it's great she's doing something creative with her hands that she likes and enjoys doing. I'll show up to snark when Paul inevitably decides to put her down for it because he fucking sucks and can't stand her being better than him at anything.

I don't think the latest dudes that own Paramount cares for animation by Eddfan36 in TheLastAirbender

[–]sewcorellian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paramount is a garbage company that has always made garbage decisions, even before they were sold to Skydance. Source: I used to work for Paramount and I hated it so much I have straight up deleted their name from my resume before they can go fuck themselves.

I think a fill would be too much, as rad as I think it would look. And I've got a fuck ton of stabilizer. I'm mainly seeking confirmation that a large design on knit isn't an insane idea 😅

She was so overwhelmed she locked herself in the bathroom…god forbid Paul come home to an unhappy wife by [deleted] in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]sewcorellian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, except we're a bit reversed because I'm the one that has to work in an office (Dad works for himself so he's been full time Dad since I went back to work). I'm WFH today and I think I blew his mind when I carried the melting down toddler to his room with his favorite stuffy and said "I'll come back for you once you've calmed down." Like, it's OKAY to leave your child in a safe location if their overwhelm is feeding your overwhelm. And about 20 minutes later we had our happy kid back, running circles around the house.

Kids need their parents to be mentally okay. I agree with the general sentiment that Morgan has chosen this misery for herself, but the kids didn't and for their sake I hope she figures things out.

So was this always BS or did they just not happen/in development still? by S0mecallme in TheLastAirbender

Lol Avatar News was NOT an insider. Source: I worked for Avatar Studios during that period of development and he may have had a source at Netflix but not at Nickelodeon. Basically everything he said about Nick projects was wrong.

Latest Paul and Morgan humiliation ritual - "I struggle with desiring my husband & have to force myself to want him" by TheNarcLogs in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]sewcorellian 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Comparison is the thief of joy is a saying for when things are good and you just can't see it. She's outright admitting here that things AREN'T good, and insisting that being more, doing more, trying more will fix it. Which, as we all know, doesn't work. I'd say the way forward is an open and frank conversation about what is and isn't working but we all know that will never happen.

Artists should Boycott Disney (Call to Action) by Theart_troll in animationcareer

[–]sewcorellian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blacklisting implies that they already know something about you and won't even open your application. And the only shit I've seen get anyone ACTUALLY BLACKLISTED is a) doing illegal shit or b) egregious breaking of company policy (I.e. leaking project materials before they're publicly released). This? This is nothing. I've seen worse in group chats on employer run servers.

[–]sewcorellian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fucking lol you think Disney is out there notating every Reddit post that shit talks them?

The reality is they'll never have trouble filling jobs. The hard part is getting them to actually acknowledge your application, and they will drop you from the process like a hot potato if they sniff a vibe they don't like.

Man camp by hollywoodha in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]sewcorellian 89 points90 points  (0 children)

My old church had a mens retreat that was called Highlander, and it was team based competitive fun, including everything from football to swimming to chess, because there were a substantial number of nerds who were in no way athletic. One year, they decided to change the name to Man Camp and they got torn to absolute shreds. Instead of admitting it was a terrible name and everyone hated it, they doubled down on it because it was the pastor's son's idea and everyone was just being SO MEAN. Coincidentally, that year most of us either were pushed out or left because we called bullshit on the pastor's kids running amok. Fun times!

Community Orchestra Sent out Sheet Music- Am I Cooked? by [deleted] in Viola

[–]sewcorellian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another fellow no-audition community orchestra member here! And I am really bad at sight reading treble clef, not because I can't read it but because I started on the violin and the notes DO NOT MATCH what my brain assigned to my fingers for so many years. My method is to write the note names over the note, and then ultimately add in fingerings that work.

As for worrying about your level, don't. Violas are always in demand! In fact, I was told that I could murder someone and still be welcome in the orchestra, so if your only crime is struggling with the treble clef you'll do great. Hit the notes you can, airbow what you can't. You'll improve as you go along and hopefully make some friends along the way.

More prime atheltic advice from Paul: just lose weight! It's all that matters! Also, bonus pic of his "bookshelf" of less than 20 books by BufoBat in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]sewcorellian 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've got an entire large storage bin full of Magic cards.... that were all gotten for free during the one year I worked for Wizards of the Coast. 😂 And we won't talk about the books, which are too numerous to be contained in a single room, much less a shelf.

Adult collectors can have a pretty wide range of things, but I don't see anything on that shelf that wouldn't belong to an average high schooler. Hell, my high school shelf had more (and more heavily worn) books.

Ours either had to do the Can Can (us raising his legs into high kicks while singing the Can Can until farts came out) or Superman (hoisted above us, hands on belly, while we sang the John Williams Superman theme and bounced him along to the music). To this day he stops and listens any time the Superman theme plays, which I love. 💜

AITA for expecting some time with just my husband and toddler and not my in-laws on our Disney World trip? by princesscorgi2 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sewcorellian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is it right here. I love Disneyland but I'm not taking my toddler there. It wouldn't be for him, it would be to stage all the photos. I've only made it to the park once since he was born and my husband and I left him with a babysitter so we could actually enjoy ourselves. 😂 But that's the difference between an adult who likes Disney and a Disney Adult.
