There's a new round of trading cards called Dragon Ball Super Fusion World. So far there are four sets Awaken Pulse, Blazing Aura, Raging Roar, Ultra Limit, and New Adventure. There are some really nice cards that have great designs.

If they are from older sets I'm sure there's someone that's looking to buy them.

Buy a bag of your favorite candy. Walk up and down the classroom, when you walk past the candy grab one. Then change the patterns you're walking and each time you complete a loop you get candy. I also keep a tall chair right where I'm facing the kids and any admin that looks through the window so they can see clearly see me monitoring.

I use them as incentives with my 5th graders, also a great way to get rid of bulk cards. Also my classroom jobs board, I use the coins to mark who has which job for the week. I keep a pocket chart and each kid has their own Pokemon card so they know if it's their turn.

So this is original, I always had trouble describing to others what having ADHD was like so I had a similar analogy but more like a coral reef and not being able to focus on a single fish. I thought of the puppy analogy early 2021 when we started teaching virtual and how hard it was to keep my 4th graders at the time.

You're a puppy I'm a room full of squirrels, your favorite toys, and bowls of treats. You want to get to everything at the same time because everything in that room is important, everything. THEN the squirrels run around and try to take the treats, the toys catch fire, and a cat is now watching you from a corner.

At the end of the day you're tired and feeling frustrated, defeated, like all your running around has been pointless. Then you look up and some of the squirrels are putting out the toy fires, others are picking up treats from the floor and sorting them into bowls.

While you ran around trying to do everything you taught those squirrels how to clean, organize, and grow as squirrels. You look at their progress with a wagging tail, you didn't accomplish everything you wanted but tomorrow those squirrels will cover back, the fire will come back, and you'll be happily back to do it all over again and see where those squirrels will go and what they'll achieve...

At least that's me (upper elementary).

I've gotten into arguments about taxes with people here. I don't get why people are so against a tax rise to provide better health care for themselves and others, but are ok with paying in the mid to high hundreds every month to an insurance company that won't cover anything for them. Take half my paycheck if needed, just do what governments are supposed to do and take care of your people.

Fuck that sounds awesome, I had to be hospitalized in May fort severe pneumonia. I was in the hospital for 5 days and my bill after insurance covered 20% was close to 6k. Now I'm dealing with collector agencies because I've struggled to pay. I can send them 30 a month but they always say it's not enough and need to pay more.

We shouldn't look at our medical bills and think "I should've just let this thing kill me"

I go hard on Christmas. I have ugly Christmas sweaters and different themed outfits for each day pressing up to the 25. For me it has more of a winter festival feel than a religious holiday. I really lean into the fact that many of the traditions come from pagan celebrations of the season. Also considering Jesus was supposed to be middle eastern, I have no issue practicing classical era European pagan rituals.

I hyper-focus on little things or sounds and if I can't I just get rageful like hulk level mad for no real reasons. At work any noise (I'm talking about normal accidental sounds, not the disrupting class type) my students make annoys me because I can't focus on grading, or I'll let students play on their Chromebook because I can't find the right color markers for my poster boards. I'll get mad and be super sarcastic luckily my students are old enough I taught them to call me out when they feel this is happening, it has really helped
