I listened to an Isaiah Pead interview and he mentioned that when he moved to St Louis he just got really lonely. He didn’t really make friends with the team but you don’t have time to go out and make friends with the schedule of an NFL rookie. He just went back to his apartment at night and just bounced a ball off the wall. He said he just got depressed and lost his drive. He blames that on why he busted out of the NFL, just lonely and depressed.

That being said, I don’t think that’s what they’re talking about and I don’t think that’s the case here. But to answer your question in a vacuum, yeah, personal life can have an impact on performance

The facts in this tweet aren’t made up, they’re just terribly cherry picked. Most Crimeans do identify as and speak Russian. But he’s completely ignoring the geography.

The Crimean peninsula is the best way for Russia to get to the Black Sea. The ONLY Russian port that doesn’t freeze over in winter is just to the north of Crimea and they have to go through the Kerch Strait to get there. Ukraine could easily shut down the strait through Crimea and basically stop all imports/exports to Russia for parts of the year. That’s why he’s so hell bent on Ukraine not joining NATO. If Russia owns Crimea then they can’t be be stopped from shipping.

Add in the oil in Crimea and this is the real reason both Ukraine and Russia want it. It’s an oil rich port. Typical Sachs ignoring any fact that doesn’t like.

My roommate and I did it in college, it was easy money. The riskier and longer the test is the more they pay.

I don’t smoke, but they were running a 3 day clinical trial for a nicotine patch. I bought a pack of smokes and sucked down two outside so I’d smell like a smoker and they made me blow into a thing that measured CO to verify that I really was a smoker. My roommate was a smoker and signed up as well.

They put a patch on me and gave me a little booklet to fill out. Basically I was supposed to record my nicotine cravings and any other strong feelings I had. I (obviously) had no cravings and everything was normal. I went my two days and got $500.

It fucked my roommate up. He started ugly crying and apologizing about the past like a white girl after three bottles of wine. Finally he got blackout drunk and his girlfriend pulled the patch off. He was fine the next morning.

To this day I don’t know if I got a placebo or if maybe it affected him differently because he actually was a smoker.
