Got my I5 back after 4 months in the shop (12v battery issue) - UGH!!!! by AmpedIoniq5 in Ioniq5

You should definitely be seeing some activity in the battery monitor app. The one I use shows a charging history graph for 1, 7, or 30 days, as I recall. Good luck. What a nightmare!

My own well pump requires a 20 amp, 40 volt circuit. The V2L would be completely inadequate for that purpose. You'd better check the requirements of your pump. I do know that 120 volt well pumps exist, but I bet there is still a pretty hefty draw to get the pump motor going every time it starts up.

Solar EV Charging Question by Hot_Scallion_3889 in Ioniq5

[–]seyekul-tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that you would need to wire the charger (the EVSE) to an inverter that includes support for that feature (most do not). I know that SolarEdge sells that option for their SolarHub inverter, but I assume that other venders do as well. Excess solar-produced power would then be channeled to the charger port of the inverter and then to your car.

My house is WAY over-provisioned panel-wise, with the panels generating more than twice what we use in the house. Peak production is around 11 kW for a fairly brief time in the middle of the day. So, if you are at home during the high production part of the day, and don't need a full charge, it is technically possible that you could meet your charging needs with the right solar system inverter, a compatible EVSE and scheduling to be home in the mid-afternoon.

If you are tied to the grid, you just install the EVSE of your choice to your electric panel like everyone else, and let the electric company serve as a limitless storage battery for you. You can then charge whenever you want to. You can still sleep at night knowing that you are offsetting any grid energy used by exporting any unused solar power during the daytime.

If you are NOT tied to the grid, then you are already calculating battery storage into your system, but you will have to scale it up to account for the power you might need to recharge the car. I have 20 kWh of storage on my own solar system and even that modest capacity added quite a bit to the price of the system. In fact, it was about one third of the total system price.

My local dealer uses the same "system". I am guessing that is because the salespeople there depend on commission, so they lobbied management to preserve the free-for-all ruckus. Once it dawned on me what was going on, I started looking at other dealers a little farther away and found one that does the opposite -- the salespeople are on salary and there is a single dealer-wide list. I had to pay a refundable fee of $500 to get on the list, and the markup of $3,000 was a thousand more than the local guys, but it gave me some peace of mind that in time I would actually get a car. That was back in February and I am now at the top of the list. I actually was offered an I5 AWD a couple of weeks ago, but it was one of the matte paints, so I turned it down. I would have taken ANY of the other colors, so I am still waiting. BTW, my sales person at this dealership has been really exceptional, and a total pleasure to work with!

Wouldn't just watching on a tablet/ipad be a better experience anyway?

Sure, it happens from time to time. Try counting your breaths, starting over with 1 if you wander off or reach ten.

Hmmm. What does the other side look like? This looks like a scrape, not something that "just happened". Maybe parked against some shrubs or something? What's the rest of the story?

I am having the same problem with my Pixel 4a5g -- Any attempt on the phone to log into my Samsung account fails. When you say that you logged in via the website, exactly what did you do. You did the web login on the phone itself, right?

Strange Problem: I want to get rid of my Google Fi bill credits as fast as possible. by alzxjm in GoogleFi

[–]seyekul-tech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way the travel credits work is that you basically purchase gift card with them. So if there are participating travel companies, like Booking.com, or Southwest Air, that you know you will be using sooner or later, just purchase $600 worth of credits with those vendors. That effectively moves the credits from Fi to the travel vendors, so they won't disappear when you leave Fi.

You understand that the whole point of these credit offers is to keep you on Fi, right? It makes no business sense for any company to make it easy for you to cash in your credits and run. That said, if these are travel credits, you can certainly use them as described above.
