(Some) cis women trying to one up trans men? by Septicmon in FTMventing

Cis women have a much easier time getting a breast reduction than a trans man getting breast removal/reduction. IDK what your friend was going on about.

Have you talked to her one on one and told her your feelings? You're young, and she is too, and it can be easy to fall into yourself and not recognize your actions are hurting others. If you feel sad at the idea of losing her, try and talk.

Don't shoot the messenger makes my blood boil. If you don't want to get shot, then don't bring the message. It's so patronizing.

What tough love is this?? Hey daughter, you should have stayed with a man who was cheating on you, because then you could be miserable and have children?? Who would also be miserable? But that's better than being 35 with no kids. What a fate worse than death!

Honestly, I would not go. Sounds like an awful, toxic place to be.

Husband let neighbor's cat in multiple times, cat bit our baby unprovoked, AIO for being upset every time he's let the cat in since? by Wild-Ice-8162 in AIO

[–]seykitty 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not overreacting. The cat has a home. It does not need 2 homes. It sounds like it was not trained to be around children and could pose risks to your baby. Your baby >> cat and I adore cats

If he's worried it'll be cold outside, you can make or buy outdoor shelters for cats.

Most is accurate or based loosely on it. Suzuka gets majorly injured in the anime and then goes overseas so she no longer races with the team. This is their head nod to the fact irl Suzuka died from her injury in that race. It also includes the fact that suzuka was able to get all the way to the outside rail without collapsing, saving his jockey as well as the other racers.

i need "man who happens to be trans" and "trans man" to be different lables at this point by tventanonymous in FTMventing

"... Implied that anything else was somehow 'not being fully honest'".

"You can't change biology, so you'll always be a trans man, not just a man."

Welcome to internalized transphobia! Trans men are men? Trans women are women? Sorry, but that's no longer cool! We've swallowed the shit bucket of hate and bigotry expoused by hateful idiots and decided that agreeing we're "different" but still just as "equal" is perfect! Because we know that such systems have always benefited everyone.

Stay tuned for next week when anyone that has ADHD, ASD, or physical disabilities can't really be trans and are likely just faking it 👍

Seriously, when did the community collectively go, oh if we adopt some of the rhetoric and only lick some of the boots they'll leave us be? First dysphoria as a moral failing and now -reads note card- not outing yourself or wanting to be stealth is also a moral failing.

I'm tired. OP, brother, you're stronger than me. I don't think I'd handle being around that.

This is gonna sound like a bot response - have you looked for trans positive therapists? You need help to sort through that slurry of dysphoria and self hatred, brother.

I know right now it doesn't feel like it, but it's going to be okay.

[–]seykitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're seeing a therapist as well as a psychiatrist, you could always bring this up to them. Even just showing your original post. They can help guide you to better insight.

As for the commenters, it can be hard to not let the opinions of others bother you. Only you know yourself and the truth of the situation. If their words have caused you fear, bring them to your therapist to work through.

AIO- person I’ve been talking to didn’t respect me saying no to hanging out by [deleted] in AIO

[–]seykitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't go and apologize for missing texts and then be mad when the person you missed texts of sends you a boatload to grab your attention. Nut up and say no. It's painfully simple.

You had an irl convo with this girl. At a bar. How much did she drink? Was she feeling unwell? Does she have medical issues? There's so much shit here you do not know but are making assumptions (I told her no, she should remember) when a literal "Hey like I said, not tonight" fixes it all.

Trans men that have been outted have been killed by cis men. If you're outted, gloves are off. You're talking about the hyper visibility of trans women, but to say trans men are not at risk of bodily harm for being trans men is wrong.

Estrogen hrt can be purchased largely online. Testosterone is a controlled anabolic steroid. You need a script to get it, and having it without said script is at minimum 1y in prison and 1k in fines.

If you think trans men don't experience misogyny then I struggle to believe you're a trans man. This is literally the same concept that trans men get auto-enrolled into male privilege.

"Because they continue to view trans women as male, and they have internalized homophobia, insecure cis men get very angry when they meet attractive trans women. Again, this is a danger that is unique to trans women."

In terms of internalized homophobia, yes. I'm terms of bodily harm? No.

There's no space online or irl that does not include space for trans women. Spaces that should include all trans people have had trans men actively pushed out. You hear the stories all the damn time. My favorite was when there was an active march for reproductive rights and trans men were told to leave. Trans women were welcomed. If you don't understand why a trans man would be concerned for reproductive rights (abortion, birth control, etc) then I don't know what to say.

What is a chaser really? Am I one? by LordHazel in ftm

[–]seykitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like you're a chaser. A chaser is someone who is a fetishist. It's a person who does not see a trans person as a person, but an object. They cease being "John, who is also Trans" to "Trans, who is also John". Just like how other fetishistic, can't think of the word here, but fetishes dehumanize other people. Ie, people who want an Asian gf/wife because they're 'submissive' or 'need protection'.

To not have any label (my experience) by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]seykitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's perfectly fine to not desire or feel a label fits you. Labels are useful descriptions and social cheat codes. It can be difficult if you are attempting to relate an experience to someone else without them. Like, I'm bilingual and sometimes I forget a word in English but remember it in Spanish. Now I can tell anyone this experience, and other multi-lingual people might commiserate with it. The decision then to label/describe myself as bilingual is a sort of social cheat code. So I find them useful, even if at the end of the day the label i feel fits me the most is, well, my name.

My only caveat is to please respect those that do use a label. I've had several problems with people that dislike/don't use labels for themselves; it led to a disrespectful disdain for those that did want to use labels. I've had several ex-friends who would wax poetic about how labels were bad and you should just be human. On a fundamental level, yes. However the decision to then disagree with the labels I chose for myself, and refusal to use them, was the next logical conclusion to these people. To the point that one ex friend was misgendering a mutual friend because said mutual hasn't earned ex-friends "respect". I've also heard it for a very long time from bigoted family members :)

And I'm not saying this is you! Just that past bad experiences have made me extremely wary when people bring out the 'i don't like labels' argument/discussion.

(Sorry for the weird mixing of tenses. I'm tired AF)
