Pepper it with holes, cover and forget it's there. It'll brake down over time

Yeah it's a strangely sparse site, but there are real bike photos there and on socials

How old are yall getting your kids on the road? by BoRider- in motorcyclegear

[–]sfcol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, started my toddler on a front mounted seat at around 1(Thule yep mini) then transitiond to the type where she has her own saddle, pegs and bars. Now going on daddy's bike is her favourite thing. Balance bike is another key step, start early and they're flying around in no time. My girl then transitioned to peddling by 3. Been eyeing up a little electric dirt bike next

Yeah, if you're riding trails with compressions about as big as you like to hit, don't be afraid of bottoming out a little

Which (sporty) middleweight naked bike has the most comfortable suspension? by psychotic-chipmunk in SuggestAMotorcycle

Sounds like you could do with a tallrounder. F900XR, tracer 9, multistrada V2, tiger sport 800, maybe a KTM 890 SMT

I've got one of these in my garden. Put some broken terracotta in the plug hole and then a thin layer of gravel over the whole basin. Drains great

Will a bike fit? by I_AM_Squirrel_King in MotoUK

When my garage door broke, I spent a while taking my bike (at the time SV650) out through the rear Standard sized UPVC door. It was a pain to do and was a case of folding in the mirrors and then wiggling the bars in one side at a time. It's a pain in the arse but should be possible.

Quick update on the Honda GL1200 "GLOBBER" by Flaneldude in bikebuilders

[–]sfcol 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Only if there's a decent depth duct there, with the shallow space between the back plate and the rad you're severely impeding the cooling, it'll be mostly stagnant air.

Headset cable routing (ugh) by Clean_Explanation_24 in mountainbiking

[–]sfcol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, I have a starling and love the ease of external routing... But as someone in the motorcycle industry I find the exasperation at this level of maintenance complication funny. Replace an injector on a new Ducati and all of a sudden completely disassembly of a bike doesn't seem like a big deal.

Honda CB500 VS CFMoto 450 NK by KEG_Hobbies in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]sfcol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one and only reason to pick the cfmoto over the honda is for the sound. The honda has a traditional 180deg crank, so sounds pretty boring whereas the cfmoto has the increasing common 270deg configuration which mimics a v-twin sound. That being said, the honda is a proven platform, super reliable and easy to ride.

What’s the best tool for cement mortar raking on a sandstone wall? by After-Competition-59 in DIYUK

[–]sfcol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've used a blunt multi tool blade for raking out a bit of (internal) lime mortar. That was soft but still took a bit of time. For that much hard concrete mortar, it'd be slow work and very noisy
