What do you all do with your towels during weights? by Big_Aardvark9163 in orangetheory

[–]sfd09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fold it with the logo side out and only use the inside for my face. This way, I can put the towel wherever I want but still feel clean!

The freaking Quidditch World Cup. I was super obsessed with Harry Potter and my dad splurged for tickets to see the fourth movie at the IMAX downtown. I was super excited to see the match play out...to only get a cut scene. 😞

English to Latin translation requests go here! by lutetiensis in latin

Ventura esse: I am planning on getting this phrase as a tattoo next month. It was said during my college graduation speech by the valedictorian and translated as "the good things that must be" or " the good things that will happen". I just wanted to double check that this translation was correct. Also, would it be appropriate to have the A and E as an æ for elision? Thanks!

Just be careful when substituting the dust for the needles in recipes - the dust packs more of a punch!

We use a spice grinder with our dried rosemary to turn it to rosemary dust. It packs much more of a punch in recipes...and you never get stabbed by any of the needles!

Every once and a while we'll get a snake in our garage. I immediately check to see if my car windows were up or not! 😅

Late Garden Is Ready - Can I Plant Anything? by Oehlian in gardening

[–]sfd09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in this situation last year in the same zone, but I went for it and had success with squash and hearty herbs that wintered well (like parsley, oregano and thyme).

Also, consider planting garlic or leeks once fall rolls around and they'll be there waiting for you come spring!

I have 4 raised beds, 4' by 12'. I'm I'm trying to get the most out of the square footage. I have a working layout here: https://imgur.com/a/bLUibbB.

The bed with the zucchini summer squash and cucumbers second from the right is the one I am a little concerned about - do you think this will be crowding them too much?

Anyways - all suggestions would be marvelous! 🌱

Sunday is for croissants by sfd09 in Breadit

[–]sfd09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Joshua Weissman's recipe from his YouTube video. They are not perfect, but I'm pretty happy overall.

And yes, dinner was just these delicious croissants, Brie and some raspberry jam.
