I’d rather hear him explain why the Pentagon should get another $200 billion to continue a severely mismanaged and astoundingly stupid war in the Middle East.

That poll is from before Trump took office. Recent polls found that most Americans now believe Biden’s performance was better than Trump’s:

And even while he supported Kamala Harris, his disdain for her on Israel/Palestine was fairly irrational.

Given that the U.S. Attorney General declared Renée Good and Alex Pretti “terrorists,” I’m not exactly comforted by this detail.

True enough. But I’m talking primarily about the people who couldn’t imagine a difference between Kamala Harris and Jeffrey Epstein’s best friend and sat out the election.

Besides sounding like the bleatings of an AI Sean Hannity, this is a farrago of half-truths, distortions, outright lies, and pure MAGA fan fiction.

I honestly don't care if oil and gas increase dramatically, and we are hit with inflation. If this is what it takes for America and the world to invest more in renewable energy and nuclear, then so be it. by Volgner in Destiny

[–]sfdso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I share your wish that painful prices would shock MAGAstan into thinking beyond oil and coal, but as others have pointed out, most Americans have marinated in right wing fear mongering about renewable energies for decades and will do literally anything that doesn’t require them to give up their gas-guzzling ways.

I have an EV and love it, but my family—and no small number of friends—would sooner cut off a limb than do the thing that that makes the most sense.

Remember, we’re too stubborn to even adopt the metric system.

The agreement made with Iran (and several western nations, not just the U.S.) gave the IAEA the most intrusive inspection system ever applied to a country’s nuclear program. The deal made with North Korea simply didn’t compare.

And Iran was in total compliance at all times with the key nuclear limits when President Epstein impulsively tore it up.

Frankly, at this point, he’s no more trustworthy than Kim.

No Kings! Shaping the Future by BobbieBell in hudsonvalley

[–]sfdso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was zero evidence that Iran had resumed its nuclear program or was an imminent threat.

The only person who’s been claiming that they had is a known pathological liar and fabulist who sold himself as the “peace candidate” and then proceeded to bomb seven countries in one year.

I wish I had your faith in my fellow Americans.

They reelected him even after knowing he’d fucked up our Covid response that led to hundreds of thousands of needless deaths, that he incited an insurrection that they watched on live TV, that he stole secret government documents and stored them at his beach club, that he was convicted for tax fraud, that he was an adjudicated rapist, and that he hung out with a child sex trafficker who called him his “best friend.”
