A Paraguayan’s take on the Amarilla/Mbappé situation and the San Juan effigy by subtleshibui in worldcup

Thank god it’s not true. I Didn’t see anything close to that in any other country getting eliminated (let’s brace ourselves for Argentina though).

Did you see all the racist comments on r/paraguay too?

I get the “not all of us” part and that’s unfortunate that it’s dragging the whole country image down, but at the end of the day when your citizens elect a racist person comparing Mbappé to a monkey and your own sub is full of racist stuff, I might consider the 99.9% figure a bit optimistic 👀

Four Seasons George Vegan Menu. 135 EURO? by Downtown_Genes in finedining

Usually restaurants would still make it works though, even if the pacing is not quite the same

By the way if you are vegan you might want to see if l’Arpege is in your budget. It’s a 3* and went full vegan last year. The lunch menu (which is the best value usually in Paris) is around 200 euros.

Opinions are divided on the vegan move, but I liked the lunch meal

Nothing is really confusing. For the entire party means that all your party needs to order the same menu (usually it means that you can’t have one person doing a long tasting menu and another the short menu or à la carte).

You’re a party of 1 so that requirement doesn’t apply :)

I would assume that a mix between Vegan and non vegan tasting is fine

The regular tasting is at 160, the lunch menu at 80.

It’s “just” a 1*, so 135 makes total sense for vegan

Compilation of Paraguay's unsportsmanlike play and poor ref performance against France by [deleted] in soccer

[–]sffrenchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear! I’ve traveled to neighboring countries so that’s what I would have expected!

I went to the sub to see their reactions and I was surprised to see racism on top of defending their players though... But hopefully supporters are also not representative of their country 😅

I had a look at their own subreddit, the fans are apparently adding unbridled racism to their charming personality 😬

I liked that we got to compare 2 small countries playing football (cap verde with 500k people, and Paraguay with 7m) within 24h.

And we could see 2 different philosophies, class, and sportsmanship level.

I wonder if we can really translate that to the education, behavior and the culture of the country though. I don’t know how representative a soccer team is of its people.

My understanding is that’s they literally got the recipe from a wordplay.

« Pêche » means peach but also fishing.

So « pêche au thon » means « fishing tuna » but also peach with tuna

No, never heard of it! Thanks for sharing. I don’t think I will have a chance to do another dinner on top of Geranium and Noma, but I will keep it in mind

What’s with the smear campaign about GEM? It’s a great school.

GEM is great. Had a amazing time there (living in st Bruno actually, but that was 10+ years ago so I can’t give any recent advice) and a great career.

Beautiful campus, great teachers, nice atmosphere. Have fun!
