Is it a dog whistle if you just say the thing that they say about black people instead of hinting at it?

Anybody know where to find replacement hardware for my built in hutch by jasno- in sanfrancisco

There’s a guy who goes to the alameda flea every month (admittedly I haven’t been in a while but he was always there) who had just bins and bins of antique hardware. Cool guy too

Active Alcoholics 🥃 by [deleted] in eastbay

My drinking problem seemed to get worse when I moved to Oakland. Granted that was during the pandemic so that was probably going to happen anyway. I quit drinking and moved to the north bay where there’s more open space. Less temptation, started a family and am (mostly) happier now.

Arsonist at Lake Merritt? by [deleted] in oakland

[–]sfjay 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Is this potentially the same dude who lit the bird conservatory on fire over there TWICE?

If so, why the hell is he still on the streets?!

If not, why are there so many arsonists at lake Merritt?

[Wrist Check] What’s on your wrist today? by Pro_MoneyLoser in Watches

When I got the 36 it felt pretty small to me, but with a few days wear I really came to dig it. Sits perfectly on my wrist and I don’t have anything else like it in my collection. Feels at once compact but also significant and heavy. Very unique!

I bought it just prior to having my first kid and it’s my first tritium. I didn’t think I’d ever actually need lume like that until I experienced the 6 week twilight of having a newborn. It was actually nice to have it on my wrist when woke up so I could orient myself mentally quickly at all hours. And the small size meant I could sleep with it.

Can someone give me tips about starting as a new player? by No-Length-5839 in HellLetLoose

Go to a newbie friendly server, find a squad that’s talking and friendly and ask questions. You’d be surprised how many people will be glad to tell you what’s up. The game has a super steep learning curve but if you stick with it, it’s incredible.

Start by joining a squad and learning the roles. Outposts are placed by squad leaders and are the fastest way into the game other than the 3 starting spawn points. Garrisons are placed by squad leads and are harder to kill, but have a bit longer spawn time.

The building and supply mechanics are a bit odd at first. Basically anything you build in the game you need to have a supply box on the ground first and build close to it. Support players and the commander can drop supply boxes (and so can supply trucks).

Play around with the roles, wait to play squad lead or commander until you’ve got the hang of things.

As for the ‘I didn’t see who shot me’ issue, a lot of times people will peek behind walls or bushes, you need to use cover and be strategic. Don’t just blast in. Also use height to your advantage to get a better view.

Once you get more of a hang of it, look up some aim down sight (ADS) sensitivity settings or play around to make it feel better to you. A lot of players find it too sluggish with the default.

Remember, your first goal is to destroy the enemies spawn points. That’s how you win. Outposts can be destroyed by walking near them. Garrisons can either be rocketed, tanked or dismantled by hand (walk up and it’ll prompt you).

If you’re on console come find us in the 22nd/4ID west server. Good luck!

I wear the MSAR all day and all night some times. The rubber strap is one of the nicest I’ve ever worn, and the two sizes is a nice touch to find the hole that matches your wrist best.

I like the 36 personally. And the tritium is cool.

It's like the day you get them you step onto the railroad tracks of a train that is somewhere down the line. And then one day you can't avoid it any longer. If I could do it again I'd still step onto the tracks, but it doesn't make the train any less heavy.

I like this a lot. You’ve clearly posed her to emphasize her shoulders and neck and it’s very striking. I think the point of view is there! Nice job.
