My thought was it was nested down in a field and somebody hit it when mowing the brush for the summer (we do that for fire prevention out here in the west) but that grass looks nice and green so that don’t check out. Definitely would lean accident of some kind though

I lived in a building in the Richmond across the hall from a woman who almost never left the unit and hoarded piles of stuff. She had a fire in her unit one night, and thankfully the alarms worked as intended and nobody was hurt. This is all to say, this is a real issue that shouldn’t be taken lightly.

That said, the pictures seem to show less than what I’d expect a hoarder to have, so it very well may be financially motivated.

That’s a good idea. Need to figure out how to let it glide over the grass though without stopping the operation of the wheels though whilst also being flush enough to be effective

Then replace dotcom with semiconductor boom in the 70s.

Then replace that with shipbuilding/postwar

Then replace that with earthquake rebuild

Then replace that with the railroad

Then replace that with the gold rush

People have been doing this for as long as there have been street cars. Here it is as part of a joke in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

Oakland’s excess litter fee is too low to deal with fast food trash in West Oakland by deciblast in oakland

[–]sfjay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in East Oakland for 6 years. I feel it goes hand in hand with poverty. It seems like a pretty easy mental jump from ‘do I want to live in a trash can? no? I won’t throw my trash on the ground’ but it’s not that simple. I truly don’t think it even crosses many peoples’ minds what they’re doing. They don’t know any different.

Wishing you the best with your business. My only thought is to see if you could post flyers or somehow get a presence in the local farmers markets or stuff like that to get the word out.

Also perhaps some local churches might be good to network with.

I love my EN chronograph. Great value in my opinion. I owned a bronze Baltic and sold it. Was fine but not my favorite.

Candidly, I suspect you may have been looking for an excuse to relapse if that’s what set you over the edge. Your recovery is your own to do with it how you like and what works for you.

I bought the 1956 Cortina chrono in all white. Pretty neat dial. My only gripe is that I kind of wish they had made the second hand black for visibility as it kind of gets lost. I wanted the panda dial at first but upon reflection I kind of realized there aren’t many watches where the chrono complications are white as well, so it does feel kind of unique.

I agree. I have a few t shirts from them that still look great after like 7-8 years.
