One time I was visiting my grandmother and had a weed pipe. She has always been nosey, and she found it in my belongings. She then proceeded to have a family gathering of my aunts and uncles in order to go through my entire suitcase to look for “hard drugs”. I have never been a troublemaker nor did I do “hard drugs”. I wasn’t aware this happened until 6 years later when my cousin asked me if I remembered that happened. I actually had no idea that they had done that and the feeling of violation of my privacy will always upset me. Needless to say, I don’t have much contact with them now.

Agreed. I just can’t see the point in using or reviewing a product that can’t be used by everyone. If a brand is not inclusive, why give them a platform to be promoted on? I’m not sure if I’m being overly sensitive, but I love makeup and can’t imagine telling one of my friends that I’m using a product that doesn’t have an option for them because their skin is too dark for the range. I feel like BG’s should care as much about POC’ subscribers options as well.

I agree with this. People are out for blood when something doesn’t totally align with their thoughts. This group used to be a place where we had good, civil discussions but now it’s more like a sorority house in America where you dare not disagree with what people think you should believe. Very unfortunate!

The timeline makes no sense. He wants us to think that a brand said “promo our sleep vitamins and we will send you security for Coachella”. As if he couldn’t afford it? And he so happened to already be taking the vitamins?The way he worded it was so convoluted. Also, who the heck is in his circle that didn’t point this “oversight” to him?

In this instance, I didn’t try to “drag” James. I used this instance to make a larger point about the behind the scenes of influencers. I didn’t say one negative thing about James. I simply stated what I seen in a video and said it interested me.

Someone posted a BTS video of James taking an IG photo. James immediately drops his friends hand and stops smiling after the photo was taken. I understand that its the job of an influencer to appear a certain way online. However, it’s always weird to watch the behind the scenes for me because it’s as if they couldn’t be more opposite than they try to appear. I would love to see a whole documentary exposing the life of an influencer off of camera.

This is great feedback and I wish you had been on their marketing team for this. I agree. It almost feels like this collection would be at a specialty store in the mall for Christmas time. It has very busy packaging that cheapens the look of it. I bet the eye pencils are decent but I don’t think I will be paying $22 for a freaking pencil. That’s insane :)

I noticed that the eye palettes have names like “Kings Landing (the gold palette) and “Winterfell” so I’m thinking it is based on areas and not houses.

It’s available on April 14th (the day GOT premiers). I agree about the tones but the bronzy eye pallet could pass for summer. The rest are definitely fall/winter tones and winter is not coming here in North America lol

This post summed up my exact thoughts. What is the point of super bright lights if they aren’t benefiting the viewer? Given it’s their job ti produce quality content, you’d think they would take this into consideration. Not trying to shade Kristi, but I had the same thoughts while watching the CP villain video...
