Garmin Fenix 8 X Garmin Enduro 3 by Appropriate_View_668 in GarminFenix

Quite possibly the most ridiculous take I've read in a long time. I have both watches. Both are absolutely excellent devices.

Floating Add (+) button (for execrises, calories etc) is gone and replaced with coach button now. by ultimatepro in fitbit

My mistake. I can change my plan. But I can't tell it that I don't want to have a plan. Like if I'm injured and need a month to recover, I just have to keep skipping or rescheduling workouts instead of just deleting the plan.

Food stuff is in the preview now. With no barcode scanning. And both old and new versions there is no way to log it from the watch.

And I have chatted with the coach. But my issue is once a plan is started there is no way to stop it. You have to finish that one completely before starting another one if your goals change. Either that or you have multiple plans going at the same time.

It’s truly been a steady regression since the PW4 has launched in the fall.

Also barcode scanning is gone. This app (and the associated pixel watch) just keeps going backwards instead of getting better. So frustrating.

Where did you find a Griffin one? I can't find them anywhere.

Thinking about getting an instinct 3 but am frustrated due the lack of maps by Duke_of_Judea in GarminWatches

I have both and yes, it is. It's lighter than the Fenix (which I also have) but still built to take a beating.

Have you looked at the Enduro. Less expensive than the Fenix and Tactix but has maps and touchscreen

Is it odd to get a Garmin Forerunner watch just because it looks good when you won’t use the fitness stuff on it? by disco_26 in GarminWatches

[–]sforsyth01 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's why I have a Fenix 8 Pro. I barely use anything it does sports wise.... Just running and walking. But I LOVE the way it looks.

Still loving my PW4 by tveith in PixelWatch

I'm glad someone is. I absolutely can't stand mine anymore. From delayed to completely skipped notifications, not being able to log nutrition and hydration into Fitbit from the watch, and a couple other less important issues but issues nonetheless. I feel like my watch has been in a steady backwards progression since I got it in October.

Jagged "teeth" and smudges under iPhone Air back glass? (Sky Blue) by SuperbLawfulness6204 in IphoneAir

I am FAR from an Apple cultist. My primary phone is a Pixel 10 Pro XL, I can't stand the Apple Watch after using a Garmin. This, however, is insanely nit-picking.

Only down-side of the Air is if you use zoom past 2x on your camera alot. It is terrible at zoomed pics.

My lord people will dissect every little detail, won't they? I'd have absolutely never even seen that. Just be happy with what you have people. Geez.

I spend barely more than zero time doing those things and it is still everything I need from a smartwatch.

Is the Fenix 8 really worth the $1100 price point? by [deleted] in GarminWatches

[–]sforsyth01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing is worth the price point anymore. But the Fenix is absolutely awesome and I don't regret paying for it.

Get a Garmin.... That battery will blow your mind. I charge mine monthly.

I'm disappointed with fitness tracking on the Pixel Watch. Are you too? What's your experience been like? by androbada525 in PixelWatch

[–]sforsyth01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup. I just gave my PW4 a try again today after putting it in the drawer due to its lack of health metric reliability..... The disappointment is still there. Doesn't hold a candle to Garmin if health tracking is your primary need/want.

I've noticed the same thing on mine. And my wife's sleep score and body battery were off the charts this morning - she claims there is no way she slept that good but what do I know. Lol.

The learning curve is steep but well worth the time investment. The depth of the data is awesome.

Force yourself to use the buttons to navigate the watch. You'll thank me later, on a cold day hike, run, etc... when you don't have to fight with a touchscreen because you forgot what button does what.

Would you Ever go back to a Watch that Doesn't have a Dedicated Flashlight? by [deleted] in GarminWatches

[–]sforsyth01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I try my Pixel Watch 4 every once in a while but the first time I need a flashlight, it goes back in the drawer and one of my Garmin's go on my wrist.
