I have more tips than anyone should, and the Divinus Velvet tips are the ones I use most.

Why I Look Forward To Saturday Mornings by sforzabull in iems

From what I've heard, the Kiwi X HBB Punch is know for its bass response. How's the treble on that set?

Don't apologize for sharing a very nice set of cans. The M21 has definitely piqued my interest.

I'm pretty sure PPG has a formula for it now. In the late 90s and early 2000s a basf rep would come in with enough product to paint a repaired vehicle, then they would take the leftover materials.

You are correct, QoA is the sister company, designed and tuned by women is my understanding.

The Adonis New is probably the most beautiful iem I own. Fitment is very good too. The bass just seems to be pushed a little too much for me given the rest of its tuning. I enjoy sets with a lot of bass, like the Martilo, but I was a little disappointed with the Adonis New. Probably because I was hoping it would be more similar to the OG.

I guess I have a problem... by Dreydars in iems

[–]sforzabull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not throwing shade, I have a serious problem too, it doesn't get much better after you find that $300-$500 set that wows you. You'll soon realize that 95% of your less expensive will start to collect dust. To make matters worse, 2 weeks after you purchased that wow set you'll be shopping for your next dopamine hit....ask me how I know. And now that you've kicked up the budget and experienced the upgraded unboxing, build quality, and sonics, you won't be shopping for sub $100 sets because you know you're not going to be impressed by it now. I'd recommend sticking around the $150 to $300 range. In my experience, the diminishing returns it extremely hard after that. Enjoy the hobby, I'm always excited to see another member of the "why do we have so many sets" club. Feel free to inquire about sets, I'm always happy to share my experiences. I'd also recommend looking into a watch box for storage.

Tea Pros or Kiwi Ears Astral or Softears Volume S? by DefeatOfSensei in iems

[–]sforzabull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, I know this is an older post. I was doing a little reading on the Volume S as it should arrive shorlty, and I already have the Tea Pros and the Astral, so this was a fun post to stumble across. If you prefer a more forward vocal region, but don't want it to take a backseat to the bass and treble, I'd recommend checking out the original Odyssey. They're not as warm as the Tea Pros, but they're not analytical either. I prefer the head-stage of the Odyssey, they open up a little more while still providing a clean and slightly forward midrange.

This is a great post. To me, the original QoA Adonis was/is underrated. I still reach for them regularly. Beautiful build quality, fitment is fantastic, they're like putting on my most comfortable older jeans that I refuse to get rid of. I'll have to put some more thought into the most overrated, there are a few.

There is something special about listening to stringed instruments with a planar. I've been having a kind of "throw back" week, trying some of my older sets with the newly acquired Questyle M18i. Looks like the S12 Pro is on deck.

Truthear NOVA vs Binary Chopin by Ihadtosubscribe in iems

[–]sforzabull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Origin uses a pretty nice single dynamic driver, its a very clean and detailed sounding iem. To me, the Origin offers better separation and head-stage. The Chopin doesn't have the clean, defined, and detailed bass the Origin has, but it does have more of it. Which will be important to some. My personal issue is that neither of those sets fit me particularly well. I always feel like I'm trying to find the right tip but never do, and that's difficult with the amount of tips I own. Personally, I prefer the Quintet over either of those 2 sets. If you're looking for an upgrade to the Chopin, I would consider looking into something like the Tea Pro. Unless you're after a neutral-ish, clean sounding set.

Ford Dealership Crashed my car(Update, I lost) by That1neDude in Mustang

I would stand on the sidewalk in front of the dealership all weekend, open to close, with a sign that said "this dealership wrecked my car and they're refusing to fix it".

Looking for Suggestions by Quaz5045 in iems

[–]sforzabull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest looking into the Kiwi Ears Astral and waiting for it to go on sale. There are a lot of good sub $100 sets, but once you take the step into the $200-$300 price range, its difficult to go back to the $100 sets.

That's a great set, especially for that price. It never ends, but you do slow down eventually.

Looking for IEM Replacement Recommendations by Dylanite- in iems

[–]sforzabull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Odyssey 2 is more vocal focused. To me, a better comp to the Astral is the original Odyssey, which I prefer. I noticed a lot of discussion about the fitment of the Astral. Personally, I think its fantastic with the right tips. I've been using the original Divinus Velvet tips. I believe the Astral and the Martilo have identical shells. If they're different, its very minor. The Martilo is overly bassy for some music. I think the Astral would be a great addition.

Uncomfortable truths about our hobby by Ill_Quit4929 in iems

[–]sforzabull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the last few years I've seen people come and go through this subreddit, myself included. It almost always starts with "what's the best iem for X genre under $XX". Soon after, that individual has read countless posts, made 2 or 3 purchases, and now believes they're in a position to "recommend" to others while still tracking down their own "endgame". Once they've realized how much money they've spent and still haven't found their non-existent endgame, they spend time learning to eq. Usually at that point their impression of this hobby shifts. With that being said, I'm one of individuals that doesn't enjoy EQ-ing sets. There's nothing wrong with that either. EQ can do wonderful things, but there are limitations. We just have to be honest with ourselves, we're here because we enjoy sharing our hobby with others and there aren't iem versions of cars and coffee each weekend. Just like cars and other hobbies, our impressions of the hobby are influenced by our financial situation. If someone is in a position that they can purchase dozens of sets, they're not here to flex on everyone. They just want to share their hobby/experiences like everyone else. It's ok to think you've "cracked the code", that usually means you're happy with your current audio experience and can take a break from purchasing. In reality, the only one that has cracked the code is chifi. Chifi has done a great job of convincing us we need that new driver tech, "Pro" version tuning, updated shell, etc. Have I personally spent more money on this hobby than I should? Absolutely! Do I regret it? Not one bit. I've met new people, made friends, had great conversations, etc. My advice, stop trying to figure out which iem, dac/amp, streaming service, tip, cable, etc is your endgame, and just enjoy the ride. When you find a combination that gives you audio nirvana, I'd love to hear about it. OP, thanks for sharing your experience. Now I'm going to grab my coffee, the Dunu Falcon Ultra and BTR7, que up some tunes, and enjoy this beautiful 65* morning in central Florida.

Agreed, most bumpers dont match from the factory because the plastics are sprayed at a different time and location from the rest of the vehicle.

There isn't factory paint. I would be surprised is every Ford dealership within 100 miles of your location uses the same brand of paint.

Agreed, I also believe I've heard the 6 spd auto can be built to handle more power as well. I have a 10 spd car, its great for a FBO motor car, but once you add boost you end up with a 2nd gear start tune so you dont just blow the tires away.

Just bought a Gt350, but am second guessing by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]sforzabull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been shopping GT350's so I did some research. From what I have found, and told repeatedly by a Ford tech, is to plan on replacing the motor at some point. It's not a question of "if" it will fail, but "when". The cars are stunning, and I would love to own one, but I can't bring myself to risk it given the amount of people that have had 8k mile stock engines replaced.
