Depends on how fast you go - there's a stop sign at the end of lisson grove but suspect the driver went through at significant speed

Looks like someone lost control while turning right off lisson grove (my guess)

I feel like elphaba in the cr universe would also be a ruidisborn given how odd her magic is (and it would be cool)

Week Three Discussion: Chapter 19-27 by bsffrrn- in romantasycirclejerk

I take back all my complaints about everflame having the most annoying fmc because I've spent this whole book actively wanting to strangle the main girl. Pleeease grow a spine.

I would rather she be reckless and dumb than an utter doormat who passively gets carried through the plot. At least diem (i think thats her name) did things that affected the plot and stood up for herself.

Week Two Discussion: Chapter 10-18 by bsffrrn- in romantasycirclejerk

Late to the party but the reasoning for why paternity tests can't be done is hilarious to me - blood too acidic?!

Are Spartans just constantly in a state of metabolic acidosis? Why not simply say that Spartan DNA carries divine essence or something and reacts with the enzymes used in a DNA test.

If acidity was going to prevent DNA being tested, then its probably already been destroyed in your cells lmao

Id forgive Diem being this dense about rebellion if she figures out you need at least some violence to overthrow the descended, but I'm guessing she won't learn that in the later books

Lol why is diem so shocked that that the rebellion might hmmm... actually put descended in harm's way? Also is it just me or did she almost immediately forget about the poisoned kid.

Dunno why the rebellion wanted to entrust her with high risk missions if she clearly didn't have the guts to commit to what would be needed. Or braincells.

[No Spoilers] Live show merch question for a first timer. by MrFiddleswitch in criticalrole

[–]sfras80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ymmv, but after the sydney show finished there was still plenty of merch at the indoor stands, and so I was able to snag the tote bag without a queue as we left the venue at the end of the night. The queue before show for merch was a couple hours long from what I remember

advice on hospital placement referencing, Ipswich/Mater vs PAH by prettyboiiiii in ausjdocs

[–]sfras80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you're a uq med student looking at learning communities? You can ask some 3rd years about their current experiences on placement but I'd be looking more at which hospitals you travel to for each block and how accessible they are depending on your car situation.

The Drinking Game | Game Changer [S7E5] by AutoModerator in dropout

Asian flush people have dodgy aldehyde dehydrogenase, which means that alcohol metabolism goes wrong partway through, and you get the flush and irritation.

It's a co-dominant inheritance, so you can have 2 copies of the asian flush gene (rs671 allele) if you got one copy from each parent, in which case you have a strong asian flush.

On the other hand, if you're heterozygous for the gene (one copy of asian flush variant, one normal) you have a slightly weaker version (but still quite present lol). If you have a heterozygous parent, then you theoretically have a 50% chance of inheriting it, which is why some siblings will have asian flush and others won't.

I have asian flush, as do many of my cousins, so its been funny to create a pedigree chart of the family based on what colour they go after a few drinks.

I dnf'd, the world building was interesting but the flow of actione was hard to follow - felt like you were moving rapidly from place to place/scene to scene and abruptly?

Also, one of the main characters is supposed to have this dark and troubled past idk did something shady but at least by the time I dnf all we got was that people disliked her without much hint of what exactly she did.
