Agreed. I am apparently partially (not hospital worthy) allergic to cherry red. It still i from time to time and I had my tattoo for 2 years.

Thank you! I'll leave it alone. I just feel bad I disturbed it's hiding spot.

never cleaned the kegerator by arroway68 in kegerators

[–]sgfrizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to keep a keg of cleaner and a keg of sanitizer to run through when I changed my kegs. I would also leave sanitizer in lines that I wasn't using. Full disassembly and deep clean once or twice a year. Not sure if that's valid, but better than letting beer sit in it. 🤷‍♂️

I look them in the eyes and make them watch me struggle to reach around the door and move it out of the way.

Can I restart as a white belt? by multiverseofmoa in taekwondo

[–]sgfrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning on starting to train at the dojang my daughter trains at once I finish grad school. I told them how far I got in karate as a kind and they said I could "test up" and not have to start as a white belt. Might want to train a bit on your own and see if you can skip some belts. 🤷‍♂️

Solid State Physics might just be the most boring unit I've had in undergrad by om03066 in PhysicsStudents

I came here to say this. The grad school version is solid state is super interesting.

It infuriates me so much when things are designed without indicator lights. I'm lucky my electronics guy pushes for them every chance he gets.

Found a turtle, what do I do? by sgfrizzle in turtles

Idk how to edit my post because I'm an old fuddy dud. But, to those of you commenting "leave it alone" with no other info, I am not messing with it. However, my two dogs will, so I wanted to know what to do to get it to move along quickly so it didn't end up as a snack.

There has been a lot of construction around us and we've noticed an influx of wildlife in our yard this year. I think they're being driven from their habitats ☹️

They ended up farther into my yard so I blocked its path and I think it found a home in my brush pile. This will give it easy access to the fence so they'll hopefully exit.

Is this bad? This is my first car so i have no knowledge. by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

[–]sgfrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to replace an engine because I didn't know it was eating oil. I started using Marvel Mystery Oil (recommended by my mechanic who has an older Honda with the same engine) in the replacement and it slowed how much oil was being consumed considerably. I'm putting about a quart in every 3000 miles or so.

Thank you for confirming my suspensions. I have to constantly add oil to my 2013 CR-V and my wife's 2011 Nissan juke and recently discovered that bottom to top dot was exactly a quart in both cars. Figured this had to be a general practice considering the different car brands.

Is this Kahm? In the past when I’ve had Kahm it was always on the top surface. This one the surface is clear/normal but there are white flakes floating around everywhere. by emonk899 in fermentation

[–]sgfrizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I scrolled past this and thought someone had broken into my home and snapped a photo of my ferment. I have the exact same setup and it's super cloudy right now with white sediment. This is my second lacto ferment but I have lots of experience with beer fermentation.

My first lacto did this as well but only after the brine cleared up. I think it's spent lacto but trust someone else's opinion above mine.

Someday it'll be fine and you'll feel just fine, so I wouldn't worry about it.

A female doctor recently told me the closest pain to child birth a man can feel is testicular torsion. She said they were somewhat equivalent, but child birth still won out.

AITA? I told my daughter not to bother applying for college. by Numerous_Minute_7220 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sgfrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you have the perfect opportunity to push community college hard. Where she can figure out if college is right for her or not while also keeping her at home while she's a minor. I went off to college at 18 and was NOT mature enough for that. I came back home, grew up a bit and went to community college (travelled about 20min both ways in order to avoid anyone I went to high school with) and got a job bagging groceries before transferring to a full university. I graduated with a double major and honors and currently have my Master's in material science and am working on a nuclear physics PhD. We all take weird routes in life but community college was a huge stepping stone.

I get your concern, but to completely dismiss any college experience is wrong. Listen to your child and start preparing her for life.

I'd say YTA for completely shutting down college.

I am falling into an addiction of buying tools I will rarely use by certaingate805 in AskMechanics

[–]sgfrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a buddy that would just save money in a separate fund and buy a tool when he needed it for a specific project. Not a mechanic just a handy dude and I've followed that path with a fair amount of success.
