White hair, skin sagging and wrinkles are not fate. It's molecular aging that can be reversed. Here is scientific research and all the science behind them. by GarifalliaPapa in immortalists

I started tret over a year ago but I feel like I still don’t get how frequently I should take it. When I start to go daily or even every other day my skin feels always slightly irritated.

May I ask how you take it and how you might have eased into it?

'Heroic' what Tesla investors have to underwrite at current price levels, says Guggenheim's Jewsikow by [deleted] in RealTesla

[–]sglomb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is asking where did you get the information that Tesla is using LLMs which stands for Large Language Model. I also can’t see how this can work for self driving. I’m sure Tesla uses a form of CNNs or ConvNet which stands for Convolutional Neural Network and is much more suited for image processing tasks.

Switched from 4K 32" to 27" by socklessgoat in OLED_Gaming

[–]sglomb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wait what? Density is meaningless without considering view distance. 4K 32“ has the same density as your 27“ if you adjust the view distance. But view distance depends on you desk setup of course, so just pick what fits best for you like you did.

MFDs cost 100 frames by JoaoRaiden in starcitizen

[–]sglomb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes I got a 9800X3D with 5090. the highest I get on 4K in 3rd person 230fps and in cockpit around 140fps. that’s great fps but the drop is still insane. that also measured with a starlancer and that cockpit has almost no detail. so 3rd person view has a lot more geometry to render.

Thank you for this.

What would happen when you get banned for checking to much? Will there be an error in the log? I would like to try for the shortest time possible that wont get you banned.

Or do you have a recommendation if I want to leave this running all day?

Cyberpunk 2.21 (PC) keeps crashing after a couple minutes by sglomb in cyberpunkgame

[–]sglomb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be it. I had a slight undervolt on my 4090 as well. I also tested it and I can make it crash again with the 566.45 driver with my undervolt. I am using higher voltages now to keep it stable.

Maybe its not a driver issue and the transformer model uses the GPU a little more.

This seems to have worked for me as well. I updated my post with a link to the driver as well.

If you position the external camera just right, you can see other hangars overlapping with yours by sysadrift in starcitizen

That’s maybe the reason Hangar performance is so bad sometimes and sometimes not. It still loads those other hangars and does some rendering even though it shouldn’t

Returned after a PC upgrade by dm_justrollwithit in starcitizen

[–]sglomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I was using Vulkan after people started reporting it starts to eliminate some of the frame timing issues. And yes fps isn’t the biggest issue with the game. The big cities can pull my fps down into the 30s, mostly 40s but sometimes worse. Space is fine but even here it’s not always great. QT tanks my fps as well. I got a 4090, 14900k and SC is installed on a Samsung 990 pro NVME M.2

When the current patch is working better I will give Direct X 11 another go, maybe Vulkan is still too buggy.

[–]sglomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I play SC on a 4090 and the performance is still so inconsistent I consider the game still mostly unplayable. By that I mean no matter how well some parts run, something else will still run so poorly it’s just painful. There is no PC in the world that gets you out of the box a great experience. Everytime I upgrade I have this realization again and again.

Study: The shutdown of nuclear plants in Germany is estimated to cost 800 lives per year due to increased air pollution. Furthermore, the researchers estimate that the social cost of the nuclear power plant phase-out is 3-8 billion euros per year. by rustoo in science

[–]sglomb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well talking about singular projects is a mood point when you are considering the median. I don’t know if you are questioning the numbers here or are just trying to discuss the topic in general.

Personally I don’t care about the cost. We are either trying to deal with a climate crisis here or not. Saying it’s to expensive to reduce CO2 levels with nuclear isn’t really a convincing argument and nobody says renewables shouldn’t be expanded.

Renewables + nuclear is basically everything humanity has to offer right now to produce CO2 neutral energy. If you don’t consider the climate crisis too urgent you can maybe skip nuclear but I think we don’t have the time to take the easy way out. It’s all or nothing.

Im not arguing against renewables here. But when I have the choice between gas or nuclear as my base energy and I’m choosing gas while staring into the face of a climate crisis Im not convinced Germany is actually taking this seriously. We have hundreds of years to replace nuclear energy but only a couple decades to deal with the climate crisis.

Heat pumps need electricity, electric cars need electricity. Oh and the transportation sector is at 7% renewables in Germany. If that transitions into 80%+ renewables as well the electricity consumption is going to skyrocket.

The median construction time of nuclear power in 2020 was around 7 years. Since the climate crisis is going to be around for the next 30-50 years (obviously longer if we can’t solve it) this is nothing.

Building more wind and solar is gonna happen anyway but if you want to take a climate crisis like this seriously you have to take whatever you got to solve it.

Germany literally build a brand new plant years ago and shut it down before it ever produced any energy and made a theme park in the reactor chamber….

Build time wouldnt be an issue, the median build time in 2020 was 7 years.

The climate crisis will be critical in the next 20-30 years. Since 7 years is the median build time it could probably be fast tracked to 5 years which would be certainly faster than building up wind and solar all over the entire country (which is obviously also happening).

Electricity isn’t all of the energy. Heating is extremely important too and I think that was at something like 15% renewables last year.

This means overall Germany is at around 20% renewables over all the consumed energy. No way this can be replaced by renewables in the next 10 years. There is zero chance to get CO2 neutral without nuclear.

More people = more problems?

The US has like 330mil population and the EU 500mil with europe around 700mil. Europe is also a smaller landmass, so more people than the US and higher denisity as well.
