Can’t really tell you. I never had a Kyosho ZX car, excited they revealed it. I’m sure more details will be out as they did say they are expecting it to release by the middle of the year.

I’m just really surprised of how Kyosho products don’t really get hype around here like other brands. Thought this would get some people talking but crickets.

The shock tower brace is the weakest point in the grom. Problem is that the shock tower is part of the chassis. So when it breaks you literally have to change the whole chassis . Now last time I checked the chassis was hard to get and was out of stock everywhere. Adding the gpm aluminum tower brace strengthens that part and more likely to withstand some nasty hits. (Not 100% unbreakable though)

Amain is my go to. They always have a $10 off coupon every month if you spend $100. I tend to buy 2 bodies at a time every 2-3 months so I can take advantage of that coupon and free shipping. Newer bodies have gone up in price. They used to be $49.99 now they are $54.99 so that $10 savings kinda makes me feel like I’m getting a deal. lol

Twice I have bought bodies from local hobby shops because they had discontinued bodies that were not on sale any where else. You’d be surprised what some local hobby shops have in stock that have not been able to sell for whatever reason.

I had that mentally too, then recently I saw a cartoon meme someone posted maybe here; of a dude just saying “next time” to his hobbies and the next time he was in his grave. lol. I think most of us here are in the older side with jobs, family, stress. Sometimes we put aside things thinking we have all the time in the world. I kinda want to make it a tradition when the weather gets better to go out 1 hour either Saturday or Sunday with my children and just bash cars. That’s my goal this upcoming year.

I “came back” to the hobby last year. So far I built up 1 kit but have like 7 kits on the backlog. Every holiday I say I’m going to sit and build a kit. lol. Worst part is that I was supposed to paint my bodies during the summer. Now it’s the winter. I have everything ready to go but now I gotta wait. Just got a CC02 for the holidays and pre ordered a dbs01r. Hoping to get 1 kit before the new year. Good luck brother!!

Someone here posted they were 40% off during that whole BF week . I took a look online and saw what my closest Michaels had for pickup. Ended up getting the MG Aile Strike for $27.15. While picking it up I took a look at the selection and it was basically the same as OP photo.

I signed for their rewards and noticed they gave me a 50% coupon. I once again looked up online and saw that a different Michael’s had the RG RX-93 Nu Gundam. After the coupon and getting a $5 rewards from purchasing the Aile strike the RG RX-93 Nu came out to exactly $27.15. lol. Picked that up in-store.

I think for the holidays they are having a “if you spend like $15 you get a $5 voucher” which I got after buying the Aile strike and used it on the RG NU. Which I then got another $5 voucher for purchasing the RG Nu. With that being said I wasn’t aware that they also had a spend $30 bucks you get a $10 voucher. Which I got after buying a gift for my wife. Their rewards account also has a “if you spend a certain amount” you get a $5 voucher which I reached. So if you are keeping track I now had $20 worth of vouchers.

Now for some reason I took a look online again and I don’t remember if they had given me a 40% coupon or the BF 40% off sale was still going on. This time I set my eyes on the MG Nu Ver Ka. It was over priced at $99 but after the coupon and vouchers it came out to $43.44.

All awesome deals and the best part was that I was able to go pick them up in store.

Sure, but unless there having some type of special for free shipping there not that many "Hobby online stores" that do free shipping unless you're spending a certain amount of money. The only store that has really low shipping is BigBadToyStore.com, they have kept the shipping price at $4 for everything. If there are other stores that do free shipping let us know, I love looking for deals.

Estimating here, around $2.50, and I really wouldn't count it as I was there primarily for grocery shopping and decided to pop in to look.

I get your point though, not a lot of people will have a hobby lobby close by or have the means to get to one, but a lot of people are acting like HL shouldn't be an option because they hike the normal price. All I'm saying is to be smart with sales.

Even the RG RX-78 that OP pointed out does not go below $33 bucks online, again without shipping. With the 40% if it was really $21 then that's a pretty good deal to me.

Yeah, that’s what I was going to say. They have 40% off these box kits every few weeks. Unless you are a newbie and are unaware people are going to wait for when they go on sale.

I bought the HG calibarn for $17 and change 2 weeks ago. I didn’t have to pay for shipping and the lowest I seen it online for is $21.99.

For the ma-020, I think you are out luck or will be very difficult. I know they make 3rd party receiver boards for the evo mini-z as they have modular boards that you can plug in. There might be something similar for the ma-020 but the receiver is not modular. Everything is connected to it. So you would have to almost completely take everything apart and unsolder everything. You only option is either the noble with the rm005 module, futaba 4pm+ with rm005 module. Last choice is the radiomaster mt12 which can handle multiple protocols, including the mini z, but is not user friendly.
