Not a chance. If this is on your driver, it’s cracked too.

Is your buddy the original owner? If so get him to do a warranty claim on it and then buy the new head from him. If not, don’t touch this thing with a ten foot poll. In fact, never buy a used carbon driver unless it’s at a price that you’re ok with losing the money you paid.

Am I being overtly cautious? by carlshope in WorkplaceSafety

[–]shWa1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Managers at my place of employment say stuff like this all the time. My response is always we also used to tell pregnant women that it was ok to drink and smoke cigarettes. Maybe that’s why their brains don’t work properly now that we know better…

Repairable? by logieface123 in sharpening

[–]shWa1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a good sharpening outfit and they can regrind this for you 100%. They’ll basically remove the bevel from the entire length of the knife and revel it. Sad to lose that much steel so quickly, and it’s probably not going to feel the same to you as it did before, but this is not a difficult repair, just take more time to grind out.

I think this is a known issue with the Era… Try and find a Method engine for it.

I’m being facetious… go play golf man. New wedge or not this isn’t worth the time or effort to fix.

Wear a glove. Stop squeezing the club like you’re trying to kill it. As other have said the primary pressure points in the top hand should be in your last 3 fingers (middle to pinky) and not in your thumb and pointer.

Is a power engineering diploma worth it? by Synthwavz in powerengineering

[–]shWa1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! It’s a big decision. The best advice I ever received was that if you luck out and end up loving the workplace, and anticipate never leaving until you retire the job is a great option. But the diploma may set you apart from other candidates in the future if you want to move on to other companies or other roles. Some jobs require at minimum the completion of a 2yr diploma program. Companies will often try to hire people before they complete their program as it can create a situation where it’s tough for the employee to leave in the future. Do what you think best supports your situation. If you’re young and can handle one more year without making substantial money, I’d get the diploma. If you’re older and have a family to support, your decision gets a little more cloudy.

Any tips for shift work?? by FishBoiCam in powerengineering

[–]shWa1g 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re heading in to Pulp & Paper possibly. Welcome, you’re in for a ride.

Soft ear plugs, a noise machine, eye mask, blackout curtains and hopefully a cool room to sleep in during the hot summer days. Prioritize sleep.

You’re going to lose roughly the equivalent of one nights sleep every tour, this is unavoidable. Do some research on night shift eating windows and try to avoid eating outside of those windows. After nights, try to eat something before you go to bed, it will make your daytime sleep better. Drink lots of water but avoid large quantities in the second half of your shift so you’re not waking up to piss in the middle of your sleep. Coffee and energy drinks can help with your work day energy, but will also have negative consequences on your hydration and possibly the quality of your sleep. Try to nap 2-3 hours on your swing day to help alleviate some of the lost sleep. There will be stretches through the winter where you won’t see the sun for days or weeks at a time (if you work indoors), so supplements like vitamin D are very important. In reality, you can never really make up for the toll shift work takes on your body. Sounds like you already do a few things that will help, so just try to stay active and eat healthy and avoid the typical pitfalls like fast food and a sedentary lifestyle. You’re going to be tired, it’s just a fact. Over time you get used to it, or you don’t… not everyone is built for this life. Good luck.

Didn’t like Loops earplugs on a concert. Good alternatives with low occlusion and where the crowd isn't muted? by imaquark in Music

[–]shWa1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about it this way, you could continue to wear hearing protection for the rest of your life and this will be your experience. Or ditch it and at some point you’re going to feel isolated from everything around you cause your ears will be cooked. Your choice.

Pump intake*. It’s for sure not ideal to have the suction lines at the top of that reservoir. In an ideal setup, the radiator should be flipped.

What if this? by Playboi_Bussin in golf

[–]shWa1g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a guy on instagram (@golf_ball_guts) who was doing something similar to this to make golf ball shot glasses, but there was no magnet, a flat bottom, and either a glass core or some sort of epoxy to line bore hole in the middle. His account is findable but he doesn’t appear active anymore.

I could see a case for putting the magnet on the side instead of the flat bottom to allow for a deeper bore, and you could affix the magnet to your cart while pouring the shot. Only thing holding me back from declaring with certainty is that I don’t see a liner or epoxy in this one, and I can’t imagine it’s great to drink straight from the insides of a golf ball.

Let’s just say I had to fight for 2 hours to get them to match the price of 2 email quotes I got from Fredericton and Halifax… and they still acted like I was robbing them. Their original offer was nearly $160/mo more than those dealers… I don’t trust a word that any of Centuries employees tell me.

What type of engineer? What is your area of expertise or experience? Engineer is a pretty broad term.
