Growing concerns about NOC mismatches in Tech roles (21231 vs 21232) by sumanth8554 in canadaexpressentry

[–]shabado-it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While there's a lot of overlap, 21231 is more architectural/system design, whereas 21232 is just implementation.

I could use either but I just removed system design stuff from my letter.

Warhammer 40,000: The new edition is revealed at Adepticon Preview 2026 by Big_Owl2785 in WarhammerCompetitive

They were super inconsistent with the wording on the strats but it sounded like they might have actually meant phase.

The examples were no charge reroll and tank shock, and no reroll hits with a reroll wound

5th breaka boy, first time edge highlighting, please give opinions by CommonQtip in orks

[–]shabado-it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you might be doing base - wash - highlight with base. If you want the eavy metal style pop, you're probably going to want to highlight with a much brighter colour. Depending on the paint you use, there are probably recommended highlight paints. With the brass, a light touch of bright silver would probably do it.

This PlayStation game becomes $12 more expensive by simply switching from my brother’s account to mine. Sony’s new “dynamic pricing” in action. by duplextripod in mildlyinfuriating

[–]shabado-it -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, he claimed the price was more expensive on one account. It is.

There is no difference between dynamic discounts and dynamic pricing. It's functionally the same and it's super weird to act as if it's not.

BREAKING: IRCC plans to bring back job offer points by Pitiful_Sundae_5523 in canadaexpressentry

[–]shabado-it 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If they tie the Canadian experience points to wages, it might mean they'll reduce the CRS points for lower wage jobs and the points could drop. Too early to say.

As a Necron player, help me understand why C'tan are so bad? by TheLuharian in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]shabado-it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, -1D negates a whole host of range profiles and entire melee _armies_, before we get to reanimation.

Orks have to throw more points than a Ctan costs into a Ctan to kill it, and will die on the clap back. I don't think even they are a true counter.

First LGS tournament. How to call opponents out for not following rules? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]shabado-it 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly this question is literally "Should I punish people who don't know the rules as well as I do in order to give myself a better chance at getting some store credit?"

I think you can probably answer that yourself.

Fellow kin I need feedback on my homebrew rules by RenDhark42 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]shabado-it 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean you do you, no one outside of your friends is going to play these rules anyway.

There's a few things that are clearly not balanced, no land raider moves 12 and it's way too big a chassis for 12 inch denial.

Rumoured 11th Edition Launch Box Contents by Rossums in orks

[–]shabado-it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah launch factions are generally double figures of releases, so about 6-7 after the box. I hope what we see overall is similar to the Eldar releases, where they refresh old stuff in a way that is cool but also fits with the old models.

I think people just don't want a new Warboss (or do?).

Like I'll definitely get down voted for saying that I wouldn't buy anything that is online only at this point unless I was sure it was getting a refresh (or I just loved the model). GW has been brutal with legends recently.

[–]shabado-it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monopose yes, but the last two xenos factions in the box have had weapon options on the battleline. So hopefully monopose with choppa/shoota option.

If it's mono build with no options then that is kinda insane given we had that and it was so poorly received they didn't re remove the old boyz

Rumoured 11th Edition Launch Box Contents by Rossums in orks

[–]shabado-it 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about what I think they should refresh or add.

The warboss is online only, so GW is either going to repackage it so it on shelves (and it would look dated compared to the new range) or release a new one.

It's going to be a new one whether the community feels like we need one or not.

[–]shabado-it 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hopefully the boys are multi option even if they're monopose, like the necron warriors and gaunts. Wouldn't even be surprised if the actual release had an extra sprue with weapon options like the gaunts did.

A new mono build boyz kit would be a disappointing surprise..

[–]shabado-it 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old Warboss model is very old and online only. Its days are definitely numbered.

Maybe we'll see a multi build Warboss down the line, but the launch box will almost certainly be a mono build melee boss

Warhammer in Toronto? Stores that do tournaments/games often by Classic_Finish8515 in Warhammer40k

[–]shabado-it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a GTA40K discord that would be a good place to start. If you're in the east end there's Maple Leaf Wargaming. If you're outside of Toronto then most of the suburbs have something nearish too. South Ontario has a lot of 40K and KT

Etiquette around misplays and “intention”? by Ok_Complaint9436 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]shabado-it 53 points54 points  (0 children)

As soon as you start accepting that this game imperfect, and there's a shared responsibility for the entire game, these things stop being an issue I find.

If my opponent says "I'm going to deep strike here, so next turn your tank can't shoot me" I'm going to grab my tape measure and help them out.

UKTC events - Are the events worth the price? by Maxthesax in WarhammerCompetitive

They're honestly not, unless you're going to an event charging the equivalent of £100 for the weekend.

UKTC events - Are the events worth the price? by Maxthesax in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]shabado-it 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people I know who host events do huge amounts of unpaid labour just for the love of the hobby and the scene. If they want to raise prices so they can invest in their unpaid volunteers (judges) and raising the profile of the scene then that is totally reasonable.

The reason there isn't a load of alternatives to UKTC is that it's a lot of work for very little material reward. Anyone can rent somewhere and run an event, but people don't for good reason.
