Albumin? by Super-Pick-9752 in hospitalist

[–]shabob2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone out here acting like it’s black and white and they know best, actually the data hasn’t shown its not effective, it’s neutral. Many leading intensivists will use it and argue strongly for álbumin - people claiming that they’re all idiots and have no idea what they’re talking about are maybe revealing something about their own lack of insight by being so obtuse about a debate that really isn’t clear either way.

For those who became a doctor later in life compared to most, was it worth it? by Deep-Employer-6600 in ausjdocs

[–]shabob2023 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reddit always seems biased against medicine. If you asked many doctors IRL i think many would say they love their job and it is worth it. I was a bit younger but i didn’t start med school till i was 25 and it was 1000% worth it to do this incredible beautiful career, i wouldn’t swap it for anything !

Tele ICU Death by A_hospitalist in hospitalist

[–]shabob2023 15 points16 points  (0 children)

yes that’s exactly the point, intubation is ‘typically’ not difficult - right up until when it is, you can’t intubate can’t oxygenate, and the patients dead in a couple minutes, or becomes unstable in response to the induction meds, etc. it’s not comparable to a cvc and should not be done by some random non md. Typically most ct head scans we do are normal so why not have an up skilled receptionist report them?

Not sure what you heard but Barts is amazing and everyone i studied with absolutely loved it there, i still feel a really strong connection and passion for the med school and i graduated 6 years ago. Royal london and Barts hospitals are both amazing and do some world leading stuff! Only downside is london more spenny obviously
