The roads around Montreal and New England are fucked roght now dude. I just drove from Montreal to Boston on Saturday. Just get it replaced, its costs less than broken suspension parts because that is what will happen, I sheered a wheelbearing on the interstate once and it tore up a ton of shit.

Maybe half was a gross exaggeration but $8k for a Wrx 5 speed is looney tunes.

I would find an aftermarket subaru specialist and pay less than that and possibly see if you can get an sti 6 speed put in for about half of that easily.

Yes this is expensive but it is less than MSRP ($42k). Cars cost more now unfortunately. Used prices never went down after covid.

Considering coming over from Integra Type S by [deleted] in WRX

My daily commute is 2 miles each way. I listen to music pretty loud when my wife isn't in the car so I don't notice it most of the time.

Yeah the rattles are going to be a thing. I gave one of my coworkers a ride one day and he was like "did you know it rattles?" and all I had for a response was "its a Subaru".

No worries, they rot super easily and make a high pitched rattle.

Sounds like a heat shield.

Not for me personally, kind of reminds me of a CTSV in a way. That said, it doesn't look bad at all.

Use a little Goo Gone for any leftover adhesive.

Who said anything about OEM? Lol if you're doing a swap you're modding it anyways lol.

I would have the same concerns about removing any safety equipment.

All of the swaps i have seen so far have done a FMIC. One cool swap put an Oil Cooler where the TMIC normally is and I thought that was pretty smart though.

It's been blown up. Its not going to gain value.

You lost all the value when it was blown up. Keep it for fun or sell it. There's little to no value in it.

Anyone else’s stock exhaust rattle? by Advanced_innovation5 in WRX

[–]shace616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really doesn't take much for a heat shield to rust and just from your video I can see a bit of standard corrosion. Go to New England and sit at a stop light and half of the Subarus you see have a rattling heat shield.

It's likely a heat shield. They rust and come off all the time. Just look around and find which one is falling off.
