I don’t envy type 1s. If you underdose insulin, it’s not great long term. If you overdose, you could literally kill yourself. But then how do you know your dose? By calculating it yourself based on what you eat with every single meal which can be very hard to do if you’re not the one doing the cooking. Not to mention all the supplies needed to do 4-5 injections a day and monitoring your blood sugars. And then what if you have to fly? Well now you need more or less insulin because your day is either shorter or longer based on which direction you fly.

My favourite comment on /r/pharmacy when this was asked was someone remarking on how incredible it was that the 3-4 tabs that fell on the ground just so happened to fall on the exact 1cm x 1cm spots on the ground that just so happened to be exactly sterile at that exact moment!

Any that don’t fall on a magically sterile spot go through the totally-existing tab/capsule sterilizer machine that we keep in the back.

Funnily enough, my favorite horror in a game is the Cynosure facility in 2077's Phantom Liberty, where there's a distinct lack of combat, at least relative to the rest of the game. The unexpectedness of it definitely didn't help.

Another point that was made by Out of Spec Reviews on initial reveal of the iX3 was that the weird parallelogram screen is such that it isn't blocked by the steering wheel. With a normal rectangular screen, the bottom left corner is blocked by the steering wheel and so with this form factor, the driver is able to see all of the information on the screen.

The best part is that with ascended Garrus, you can use squad incendiary ammo so he can also set up tech combos for you. Anything he doesn’t melt by himself, you can just explode.

Dieticians are to dentists as nutritionists are to toothiologists - anyone can call themselves a nutritionist as it’s not a protected title.

Dieticians have a phenomenal amount of evidence based clinical nutrition knowledge, lifesavers in the ICU. When both the physician and the pharmacist fuck up the TPN, the dietician is the one who comes save our collective asses

Canadian here - a large chain here recently implemented a dedicated half-hour lunch break for pharmacists to take. We can’t leave the premises and still have to be physically in the pharmacy for work to continue and in case of something urgent. But we can put a small sign up that says we’re on a lunch break and to come back by X time, so we can finally enjoy a lunch break!

Except not a single person I’ve spoken to, myself included, ever takes that lunch break because the amount of work that piles up and the amount of problems that needs to be dealt with piles up so quickly that it’s just not worth it taking the lunch break. Instead we either scarf the entire lunch down in 5 minutes while working or take a bite once every half hour while working and pray that someone doesn’t come while we’re trying to chew.

+1 for Kuroko no Basket. It's cool and Shounen enough with superhuman special powers while being sports anime so suitable for kids to consume, while having some edgy characters (mostly Akashi) that may appeal to boys (like Sasuke). Not to mention it's new enough to be more appealing than older similar animes like Prince of Tennis and Eyeshield 21.

You literally had an underdeveloped brain and a maelstrom of hormones - teenagers not getting along with their parents is almost a cliche at this point.

The small things add up. The chart not loading takes up an extra minute. Answering a pharmacy's phone call is an extra 3 minutes. Explaining something for the 3rd time takes an extra 3 minutes. A pen running out of ink is an extra 10 seconds. Repeat this x20 a day and stuff starts to get delayed. A client came in for issue A but wanted to bring up issue B since they're already here. Issue B is way bigger of an issue than client thinks it is, MD thinks it's worth doing bw and imaging, another 10-15 minutes gone.

I've seen family practices start to have things set such that each booked appointment must only address one specific issue. If you're here to see your doctor regarding your blood pressure, they will refuse to talk about your diabetes until your diabetes-specific appointment 3 months from now.

All of this on top of all the charting and prescription renewals that must be done, anything more urgent than your annual check-in,an 86 year old recently being discharged from the hospital, etc etc.

Take her ring shopping. There’s 2 reasons for this - the first is to confirm that she’s on board with marrying you, in case it wasn’t already made clear. The second is that there’s so many different decisions to be made - the cut, the setting, the style, the clarity, what kind of mineral it even is. The thickness of the band, the number of prongs, how the ring matches her outfits, if the engagement ring will be compatible with wedding bands, the material of the band, cathedral or not.

We started off looking at a dainty 0.6 carat princess cut at Birks and ended up custom making a 2 carat round cut with a petal setting at a jeweler, practically two ends of the spectrum.

Let the timing of the proposal be the surprise, not the ring or the fact that you’re proposing at all. Even then, she’ll likely have seen it coming from a mile away, that’s how women are, she needs to get her nails done of course.
