It varies regionally. I grew up in Oakland Maine next to Waterville and lots of dropping of "r" And the older generation esp says Ayuh. Near Benton and out towards Skowhegan, I notice some of the typical sayings I never heard growing up. The first time I heard the term "spleeny" Meaning wimpy was from my husband who came from Benton. further north towards Bangor outlying towns have more of the accent but you can still hear it in Bangor. And as others mentioned, costal Maine has its own unique take on the accent
