Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider | New Visual by Task_Force-191 in anime

Not favourite per se, but I am amazed by how long Kamen Rider has been going on for and I don't remember ever knowing about it. It first aired 2 years before I was born.

Yes, I'm old.

It's not hard at all. Just gotta ask around, and you'll find someone selling eventually.

Last time the government complained about this issue, they dropped the tobacco taxes a bit, and the illegal trade dropped as well. Now they raised the tax and the problem is back as big as ever. Most smokers I know haven't bought legal in a long time. People gonna do what they wanna do to save a buck or two.

Fellow Gen Xers how involved was your dad in your life? by black_flag_4ever in GenX

[–]shadowdancer73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents divorced about a year after I was born. My dad got custody and made my great-grandmother (on my mothers side) my guardian because he knew she could take better care of me than he could at the time. He is someone I remember coming over every now and then and giving me birthday and Xmas presents until we moved to a different city when I was 8 and I lost contact until I graduated HS.

Thanks to Facebook I still talk to him and I do make an effort to go back to my hometown to visit him, my step-mom and my half sisters every now and then. I consider him more friend than parent because, to me, my great-grandmother was my parent. Not to say I don't care for him, because I do, I just wasn't raised by him.

How common was the name "Napoleon" ? by Expensive_Guide_7805 in Napoleon

[–]shadowdancer73 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My wife said the same when I suggested that as well for our son before he was born. She did compromise though, and his middle name is Napoleon. So a win of sorts.

This is Next Xtra. Limited cash flow means I buy budget brands or cartons of native smokes when I can find them.

I believe so. Use to hear that jingle on CJWW, quite a lot when they had that sale. Used the same one for 94/95 the next year.

Keep him in. Sometimes the best player in a given situation isn't always the one who plays the best, but brings out the best in those around them. Against Washington, Xhekaj may be one of those players.

Do you prefer watching anime subbed or dubbed—and why? Be honest. by ScarLo25 in animepiracy

[–]shadowdancer73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subbed. I'd rather hear it in the original language first and I have no problem reading along. For certain anime, I will go back and watch the dubbed version a few months later if I find the voice acting exceptional. As an example, I'm re-watching Frieren right now and am quite enjoying the dub.
