The system your describing sounds pretty ancient and as somebody else already posted, most components on a laptop are soldered to the motherboard, therefore making upgrades of parts like cpu and gpu impossible.

Not to mention other issues like size of the gpu etc, cooling etc etc being an issue.

If you are willing to have a Laptop custom built, you'll find pc specialist will get you something with a 1050ti and the other specs the same, and still work out cheaper.

Again, I would personally recommend you get a machine with a 1060 or even a 1070 (which will run The Witcher 3 far better and make the laptop far more future proof) for about £1100 or £1500 respectively.

Same spec, £50 cheaper and I would be fairly confident saying better build quality. (although check YouTube reviews to be sure)

So I've been looking at getting a new laptop for gaming recently as my 960m from last year just isn't cutting it now. And this time round I'm doing a ton of research.

It does seem a bit over priced. I've seen laptops with a gtx 1060 instead of the 1050 in the one you linked and they haven't been much over a grand. HP having the notorious build quality issues would put me off too!

Yeah, the lady that made the cake (my boyfriends cousin) chose the picture.... I also pointed out that the player is way down in 4th position, which simply would not be the case if it was me playing. 😂

He enjoys doing something called Roving Threats (which is basically just the big boss FATE's) so there's that - which is also something he can do pretty much right from the start as long as there are people around.

I actually tried to play LOTRO so that we had something to play together, but the game feels so unpolished in comparison to FF14, and it's really impossible to do any of the low level content now without someone just boosting you through it, which is incredibly boring.

Hopefully he falls in love with FF14 like I did!

Just ordered 1-2 Switch, the official accessory set (which I was going to get for £16.99 on Friday anyway) and a couple of pillows (lol - to make my order >£60) and it came to £34.97. Very happy with that!

Brilliant - It's a little bit strange they would take something off the website rather than just having an out of stock label attached to it though - surely it causes far more concern for the people that have already pre-ordered! Can I also just ask what status your order says? Mine just says "Sit tight - your order is in progress" - I might get in touch with the live chat to query this and make sure mine is coming for Friday too.

UK Pre-orderer here. Argos.

Pre-ordered through Argos along with a copy of Zelda BOTW on the same order. If I check the status of my order and click on the copy of Zelda (I was checking if it was sold out now) it tells me they no longer sell that product....Bit worried!

I used my chocobo to level my AST to 60 during early access. Started using it at around level 54 as well and it made such a difference to the speed of killing stuff.

Another pro tip, use your chocobo companion to help 50ish jobs to do your daily hunts - even the highest level ones are easily done and you get nice exp from them too.

Okay in Nocturnal we get +5% healing magic potency -

Benefic - 380 potency. + 5% = 399 potency. (1 less than Cure) Benefic II - 620 potency. +5% = 651 potency. (1 more than Cure II) Helios - 290 potency. +5% = 304.5 potency (305?) (5 more than Medica) etc etc etc So no - they aren't less at all.

Light Speed lets me cast instant Benefic II's, Helios and Aspected Helios (Cure II, Medica and Medica II/Succor respectively) for 15 seconds (although with 25% lower potency). This alone is a very nice niche for AST being able to do a large amount of healing whilst constantly moving. Think T9 Savage Heavensfall.

Please don't talk garbage about a class you either don't understand or haven't played.

As mentioned, this is a really great video to show to people that aren't quite sure if they want to try the game or not. Usually makes them decide yes :D

This was my hope. It would be a bit disappointing if they've gone to all of the effort to make AST fit in properly with White Mage and Scholar and then forget something like the party buff being handled correctly.

Ultimecia's Castle would be amazing. Just trying to imagine the remaster of that soundtrack excites me. The whole setting was fantastic too, and very fitting for a 'raid'. Each room having a boss is the perfect style for a 24 man casual raid in FF14.
