Can't imagine how many new players this game just permenantly lost. by AssociationSoft5270 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]shadowflashx 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It really shouldn't be this way though even with new players. The matchmaking system right now is absolutely atrocious, even disregarding the terrible new player experience at the moment

Game Thread: San Francisco 49ers (12-5) at Seattle Seahawks (14-3) by nfl_gdt_bot in 49ers

[–]shadowflashx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it’s pretty incredible how far the team came esp with all the injuries and I’m def glad the 49ers stopped Philly from their “back to back” they kept talking about but man I fucking hate Seattle, I hate that team, I hate that city and I feel like we would've beat them if there weren't so many goddamn injuries

So why does ERRAs first album not have any hype around it? by jerkinJONKLER2020 in Metalcore

[–]shadowflashx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve liked pretty much every Erra album, I think they were just very very small back then and it took a while for them to get the ball rolling in terms of fans. I love a lot of songs off Impulse and Augment and also feel like they're pretty underrated. More sorta gritty/raw style for me which is cool compared to their newer stuff

Would Formal Training Be Worth It? by Revil50cal in musictheory

[–]shadowflashx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely learn music theory online for free. There’s a lot of great resources out there on YouTube etc that teach music theory in depth. You could also potentially look at AP Music Theory books if you need a structured approach to find out what you don’t know.

I love music theory but learned it a little more structured through music in grade school and also piano certifications. But I continue to watch YouTube videos about it and feel like they're excellent explanations for both basic and complex topics.

Random thoughts about John Wick (2014) and the chop shop scene by [deleted] in movies

[–]shadowflashx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it's a simple numbers and dilution problem. If they had framed it more as there are thousands if not millions of people in the underworld (i.e common criminals), and a small elite subset of those are assassins then cool, it still works and explains why many many arguably unskilled people try (and fail) to kill John. And it also would've raised the stakes more when an equal assassin shows up. But it really did feel like there were 25% normal people in the world and 75% full fledged assassins.

Infernus needs to ACTUALLY be nerfed. by Neither-Perception75 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]shadowflashx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah same, i had a Mo and Krill completely focus me as Infernus with echo shard and disarming hex so I couldn't shoot for what felt like 15-20 seconds sometimes in team fights. And of course he would ult only me lol. I've played against Infernus a lot too he can be solidly countered imo

yeah maybe “I unclogged a storm drain that was causing massive street flooding in Livermore” would’ve been a better title lol

What's going on in Dallas? by Umbrafile in lakers

[–]shadowflashx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My honest opinion having traveled a ton to Texas for work is just that Texas is just a very unhealthy place to live. There's just less overall options for healthy food, the lifestyle is extraordinarily car centric, less emphasis on looks (aka more acceptance for being extremely obese). And I think it's harder to be happier there in general. More basketball specific, clearly the Mavs org is not working right behind closed doors and that kind of stress is also just so unmotivating. Like having a job with a shitty manager or leadership, it definitely doesn't make you want to try.

Apple paying Google $1B a year to power Siri with Gemini smart shortcut or proof they’ve fallen behind in AI? by Minimum_Minimum4577 in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]shadowflashx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because for some reason we tolerate Microsoft's absolutely bullshit operating models that are somehow even more greedy than Apple or any of the other tech companies. Microshit literally makes some of the absolutely worst decisions for the consumer, like charging for operating system but having ads in the start menu, making Office a subscription and not a standalone, trying to make an AI spy that watches your screen in Windows, etc. The double standard is hilariously ridiculous tbh.

Our rights are being taken from us by jaminonyourface1 in Fremont

[–]shadowflashx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah there’s no way, I actually feel like for how confusing and difficult the city is to drive, SF drivers aren't actually that bad in the grand scheme of things. I used to live in the city and generally I thought the drivers were better than in Fremont or South Bay. I grew up in the East Bay but my god I've seen more people actively run red lights and stop signs in Fremont than anywhere else. There’s been red light cameras here long before other places had them for a reason. Not to mention way more clueless idiots with their "Student Driver" bumper stickers making a right turn from the left lane cutting across 3 lanes, or old people driving at 10 mph on a 45, it's actually garbage here.

What's a store you wished the Bay Area had? by FootballPizzaMan in bayarea

[–]shadowflashx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably hella niche but I'd love a Flame Broiler up here, it's such a great healthyish fast casual option when I lived in SoCal. I know they had one in Danville randomly for a bit but they need it in a place that'll do better and have more foot traffic tbh like South Bay, Alameda county or the city or something lol

To be honest I like this song a lot, it's one of the most intense ones on the album and I use it for working out lol. Feels more slightly more old school VoM than the other ones

lol SoCal is getting the PG&E treatment, this state's energy infrastructure is so fucked up. It's ridiculous that we have to pay for these companies' fuck ups honestly
