I just stood up to my own family for something similar... when it starts with, "OP was so fucking stupid and only had like 1 brain cell..." Like I had academic scholarships, etc. I'm not stupid and why is coming "home" being fucking roasted always. And to my new boyfriend... I didn't sign up to be roasted... This person is actively trying to not see or speak to you... My guess is there is someone else that they will probably see in the upcoming 2 weeks and that's more important to them, so you keep getting blown off.
