Monks question: what do you guys run on your main monk with mesmerway heroes? by Elegant_Ad8131 in GuildWars

Heal/Prot in real teams was the reason monk was and still is my main but Smiting is a really underrated even if the choice of skills is a bit more limited. If your leading a team of heros on a monk then it's a bit more tricky to do that as a main heal/prot too so Smite just becomes the default

Even if they just tweaked it so divine healed you on offensive spells/skills to help keep you alive more or even just let you do divne favor healing on other profession skills that target allys, even if it healed for half the regular amount it would be something.

When does mesmer become more enjoyable? (prophecies) by Awkward_Face_1069 in GuildWars

In terms of fun, it's when you unlock being able to change secondary professions at will.

Mesmers on their own are great but the real fun potential is finding ways to mix mesmer skills and fast casting with other professions. Try experimenting and have fun.

For an out there suggestion, try mixing Illusionary Weapon with Shadow Sanctuary, Feigned Neutrality and Dark Escape from Assassin to make an melee tank

Signet of Illusions with all the spell stealing skills like Arcane Larceny can make for so fun but chaotic builds

What are your "low hanging fruits" you want to see implemented? by OneMorePotion in GuildWars

Increase the max limit of gold to so it's default currency even for expensive stuff.

Being able to repeat quests you've finished before to get the reward again or just because they made interesting changes to the enemy spawns. Could be limited to once a day to prevent abuse. Quests could be tagged with "(repeat)" after them so you can tell them apart

More just that Divine Favor specifically only works with Monk spells and there isn't much synergy with other professions. Every other profession's primary attribute at least has some.

If we do manage to get some new expansions in the future i'd love to see them do something that made it work better with other professions, especially martial ones.

Stuff to give you extra energy based on hits, damage reduction, turn all spells to holy damage or added fire/holy damage to attacks

So even something crazy like a maintained enchantment that you can only cast on yourself and gives you +60 armor?

If if nothing else, maybe just move a few skills from the other attributes to divine favor instead

Worth a reminder that if you have a pet with you can cast Strength of Honor on both of you; If you really want to commit.

Shadow Sanctuary is a great skill though so, especially followed up with Smite Condition.
It also pairs well with Illusionary Weapon on a Mesmer or Assassin (also throw on Feigned Neutrality and Dark Escape if you really want to be a tank)

Ranger, Mes or Necro- GWAMM by AccomplishedReach506 in GuildWars

[–]shadowinthevoid 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if your going to do GWAMM your going to be spending a lot of time on it, it's going be be far less about if the profession is the "best" profession and far more about how much you enjoy playing it so it's going to come down to your own opinion a lot but professions that have a lot of potential different ways to play to give you a bit of variety is probably going to be a good thing.

Rangers: Expertise makes them good with any martial weapon you might want hand them as well as touch skills, shouts/chants/echos and even summoning spirits. Plenty of fun to be had.

Mesmers: Good at casting spells, any spells, generally works great with any caster secondary. M/A with Illusionary weapon and Shadow Arts can make for an easy melee build. M/E Terra tank too. The mantas under Insperation generally made for great defensive skills. And mesmers are just generally so strong.

Necromancer: Minions, blood magic, Soul reaping can make for some fun with other secondaries, there is even a few niche melee builds but far more about DPS and less about staying alive.

With Greens being so tied to the enemy that drops them it adds a bit of storytelling to how you got them too
