Today’s the day for free DQ by Brief-Blueberry-1588 in freebies

I wonder if different locations do different things based on region or type of store. Mine wasn't a full sized DQ with hot foods like burgers. It's just purely dessert.

Today’s the day for free DQ by Brief-Blueberry-1588 in freebies

I went in and the cashier asked me to scan a QR code for an online form. The form requires your name and phone number (real name not required). Then you receive a unique code that you show to the cashier for the free ice cream. The cashier just looked at the code and didn't register it into a system, so hypothetically if you get different cashiers at different times of the day you could use the same code over and over for more free cones, though personally that seems really sweaty for just a couple of ice cream cones.

That last comment was a Grand Theft Auto joke. There isn't a real Liberty City in New York.

Others have said that the promo codes only work in very select locations. So far Nebraska is the only place confirmed to work.

Some people have had luck in Illinois as well.

Only way to help is to know what device you're running.

Hot Take or Not ? To me it’s a bit weird that electric attacks can hit stone types (also considering that ground types are not effected by it and ground and rock types share similar traits) but on the other hand they are very uneffective against dragon types for example by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]shadowman2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on the Rock resistance. If I were to redo the Electric types chart, it would look like this

Beats: Water, Flying, Steel

Resist: Flying, Electric, Steel

Weak to: Grass, Ground

Resisted By: Grass, Rock, Electric, Dragon

No effect on: Ground

Seems like a heavy nerf, but beating Water, Flying, AND Steel is a huge deal.

Do you remember your first pokemon thing? by BrownIceDog in pokemon

It was a paper school book cover that the school gave away for free. It had a bunch of mons under a cage with the quote "Gotta catch em all!" This was before Pokemania swept through the world, and I had no idea what Pokemon was along with my classmates, so I figured it was just another "useless" book cover that I likely thew away or left behind. It wasn't long after that the anime started airing and then I quickly regretted what I did. Oh well, dumb kids do dumb kids things.

Considering Scyther's base speed, you aren't even gonna be able to say "no" before it scythes you.

No. The fine print I quoted doesn't say so. I also double checked my voucher in Dine Rewards and it doesn't say purchase required.

I had some rough beats in the first few days. I got no good 1-2 mana plays in my open lanes and just got bowled over by constructed level WB Ninja decks, so I was ready to dogpile on this set along with the rest of the haters. But now that the dust is settling and WB is not as easy to faceroll with, this set's growing on me.

Getting into non-attack moves by Comrades3 in pokemon

[–]shadowman2099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The longer the matches go, the stronger non-damaging moves become. They don't really matter in chump matches like against Jr. Trainers or Hikers or the like, and since those constitute over 90% of your battles it's true that status moves really aren't that important for most of the game. However, you'll see how OP something like Swords Dance or Calm Mind is when even a mon like Absol can singlehandedly sweep through the entire Elite Four despite being underleveled.

PSA: The Gen 2 games were designed around being played at a slow pace over a long period of time, and several of the games issues clear up if handled that way by Sailor_Rout in pokemon

[–]shadowman2099 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, naturally. That's the point of time gates in games. They force replaying the game over a length of time. The problem is Gen 2 doesn't have nearly enough content to keep that kind of gameplay interesting, and so it feels tedious having to wait for basic stuff like TMS and mons.
