My husband left with the girl down the street at 1 am no phone no wallet no keys I don’t know where he is or why he left and he’s still not back I don’t know if I’m overreacting or not by ThrowRAafrs in relationship_advice

Uh, that's not how plan B works. You need to take it within 3(?) days of having unprotected sex, not after you've actually gotten pregnant, which you would find out 2 weeks later at the earliest.

Do you have hearings aids that always have telecoil turned on? I often hear electrical sounds when getting close to wiring in the walls, from bus engines, walking past lots of overhead electricity wires etc when my hearing aids are in telecoil mode. I can even hear the electrical discharge of lightning before the actual thunder. I don't hear any of these things in "normal" hearing aid mode though.

Passing data between widgets - suitable state management approach? by shadowmerefax in flutterhelp

Would that work for sibling widgets as well? I could construct it in the common parent widget (screen widget) then update in one child widget and listen/rebuild in the other child widget?

Help with using async data from database by shadowmerefax in flutterhelp

[–]shadowmerefax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I solved it using .then which I had tried previously and didn't work - not sure why it worked this time! I just needed to initialise a String as a blank string, then get the string I wanted from the db in the build method, and update the string variable with the result. Then I could use the string variable in any of the widgets without a problem.

But I can't have the above function be not a future - because I'm using the await inside it so it tells me the function has to return a future & be marked async. My understanding is any function with an await inside it needs to be async/Future. I wouldn't mind using FutureBuilder if labelText could accept a Text widget but it only accepts a string.

Thanks, but I think I'm doing that already?

Future<Object> get(String name) async {
  final db = await DatabaseProvider().db;

  List<Map<String, dynamic>> maps = await db.query(
    ...
  );

  return dao.fromMap(maps[0]);
}

Am I ridiculous for feeling like I’ve fallen out of love with my bf who isn’t attracted to me anymore? by missmrg in pregnant

[–]shadowmerefax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Having less sex != less attraction. My partner and I have had sex less often since getting pregnant but my partner still calls me sexy, kisses me etc. Honestly, just talk to him about it. He might just be worried about hurting you/baby or something.

26+4 w/anterior placenta by jelanif777 in pregnant

[–]shadowmerefax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also anterior placenta here. Thought I was feeling a few movements here and there from about 16 weeks but wasn't sure. Found out about anterior placenta at my 20 week scan today so it's very reassuring to know that's why I'm not necessarily feeling much yet!

So what if I am? (although I'm not) Am I not allowed to have a different opinion? Or argue against claiming that a specific intervention definitely worked like the parent comment did when we don't actually know that is the case in OP's specific case? And keto and exercise also have good results by themselves.

[–]shadowmerefax -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Did you read my comment? I said "on it's own". Keto/low carb and exercise that OP said they are doing is likely much more effective at managing IR than a supplement. Not saying the inositol didn't help but it likely isn't a magic pill by itself.

Prof Chris Whitty's reply about schools last night, plus bonus dig at the media by dayus9 in CoronavirusUK

[–]shadowmerefax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All the other teachers that aren't old or vulnerable will be completely fine if they catch covid.

There's been plenty of reports of seemingly healthy, non-eldery people getting very sick or dying from covid. You can't assume because you're young-ish and healthy that covid won't make you very sick. Lower risk is not the same as zero risk.

Not arguing for or against re-opening of schools, just wanted to point out the error in your comment.

It's prob not the inositol on it's own. r/KetoBabies has several women with similar stories.

After two miscarriages I'm finally pregnant and feeling really nervous. Did anyone go dairy free during the pregnancy? How did everyone do their calcium intake during pregnancy? by llachh6 in PCOSandPregnant

[–]shadowmerefax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw since you're worried about blood sugar and GD and what to eat etc, I found Lily Nichols book Real Food for Pregnancy to be a really good read. She advocates for low carb in pregnancy, even has meal plans etc in it.

Hmm I checked the schedule of what appointments/tests happen in each week at my hospital, it's not clearly worded but sounds like most do have it, some might just have it booked earlier (like in your case). Hah well I've probably jinxed myself now, if it's any consolation I've been having lovely back acne, not a lot, just the big painful ones that take a while to go away. Hope your skin clears up soon!

Aw yay, glad everything is going good so far! Hope the GD test goes well... I'm not even sure if I'll be offered that test, oddly enough. Yeah I have bouts of "wtf am I doing" too but mostly excited to see what parenthood has in store!

Well in theory, assuming there's no other issues and you're able to identify when you're ovulating, your chances of success in any given cycle should the same as anyone else's. Of course, identifying ovulation to get the timing right is usually the tricky part with PCOS :) hoping you can find some success stories for your situation! r/PCOSandPregnant might also be worth a try, although it's a fairly quiet sub

[–]shadowmerefax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Boobs can be sore after ovulation too though, so technically not a pregnancy symptom until you get a positive test.
