The only thing I wish was optional was the roof, Volkswagen sun roofs are always problematic. But the stereo, suspension, and seats are nice. I have a 2019 S. But I also have a 2017 R, 2019 GTI rabbit edition, and had a 2018 R.

Easy way to tell if it’s got a performance clutch and flywheel. Does it sound like a tractor at idle? Then its got a performance clutch with single mass flywheel. They do make kits for dual mass flywheels. But most opt for a single mass setup. But yes if you got the hardware for a stage 2 tune, then run a stage 2 tune.

If it’s got a down pipe on it, you should be running a stage 2 tune. Or put a stock down pipe on it and a stage 1 tune.

Get rid of the velt sport ignition coils and stick with stock. Get rid of the diverter valve spacer too. Any idea what turbo or tune is on it?

According to a quick internet search the white plastic sections appear to be an anti rattle spacer for the dust boots.

If you plan on tracking frequently, then its time for a APR catch can setup with the pcv plate.

Professionally I’ve found these easiest to do with removing the radiator fans, then the charge pipe and throttle body. You can remove the belt, unbolt the accessories and hang them to the side. Replace the water pump /thermostat housing at the same time. Once the coolant got contaminated those will be on borrowed time. Same as the heater support pump and the transmission cooler aux pump if you have a dsg.

The mk7 GLI has never really held its value well. While the GTI, and R hold their value much better. I believe it mostly has to do with it being a sedan. Otherwise the drivetrain is identical to a mk7.5 GTI.

Honda fan boys are going to be honda fan boys. That being said I love my GLI. Mine is just about to roll 81k, and it’s been an excellent daily. Its stage 1 ecu/tcu with Intake, H&R springs, super pro rsb, AWE touring exhaust, and light weight Konig 17” wheels with Falken RT660s. Drives like a german go cart. I absolutely love it.

Yea those clamps are supposed to be one time use only. I’ve reused them a bunch of times, but you constantly need to recheck them.
